20-inch Freestanding Barrier

Great Pet Barrier
We received this great pet barrier quickly, sooner than expected. The metal is substantial and attractive. The barrier assembled easily and looks fantastic.... very good attention to detail including non-slip rubber pads. Our 4 little dachshunds can't move it, even with a team effort. They're not too excited about it, but we are.

Well Made Dog Gate
So easy to put together...Very attractive appearance..well made...and, easy to move when not in use...doesn't fall over from weight of dog, my dog sniffed it, and, then sat right in front of it....I'm very satisfied with the quality and, how it looks and, actually works to keep my dog comfortably in another ajoining room.

Perfect - Really need two
Love the ease and portabiliy of the gate, it accomodates all the areas that I need, even without adjusting. full length. I move it around so much that I would love to have two.

Gate works great
We wanted something that would be both functional and good looking in our new home. The gate, oil rubbed bronze, looks great! Works, too. The dogs don't go wandering where we can't supervise.

Perfect choice
This is an elegant solution to stop our puppy entering a section of the house we dont want him in.

Very good buy
The only minor problem with the gate is that it swings only one way. It would be nice if the gate could be altered to either set the hinges on either side of the gate, or allow the gate to swing either inward or outward. Other than that, the product is excellent.

Great gates
We purchased 2 gates one small and one large and they work perfect for our dogs. They look great and work well with decor. A+

Great value
This sturdy gate is perfect for blocking off our wide hallway to prevent our exuberant lab puppy from accessing the more formal areas of our home. The gate is easy to operate single handed, once you know how... our guests have been a little baffled by it. Ours arrived with a bent bottom pin that didn't align properly, but that was easily fixed with a pair of pliers. Aesthetically, it fits nicely in our 7000 sf home. Today, I'm ordering the matching smaller doorway gate to replace the light wood & white plastic one we have there currently.

Need a gate like this 50" wide. Do you have anything like this?

Answer:
Unfortunately there is no barrier 34" or taller that is capable of being exactly 50" wide. The 34' high, free standing barrier is 55' at it's shortest width and the 36" high, free standing barrier is 54" at it's shortest. You could use either one but have the side support pieces outside the opening. If you look closely at the pictures of both barriers you will see an example of how that would work. That would make the barrier stick out into the area outside your opening about 10-17".Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Answer:
This gate expands to much wider than 50", as shown in the product description - my opening is wider than the 50" and works great!4 months, 1 week ago

Does the gate swing shut automatically?
I have two young kids, and I'm afraid they'll plow through without shutting the gate behind themselves. Does it swing shut automatically?

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. The gate on this item will swing shut automatically, however it will not lock completely as the gate has to be lifted slightly to close and secure.Has staff answer

I have a 6 foot (72 inch) opening. Will this gate be wide enough?

Answers
Answer:
Thank you for your interest in the 36-inch Freestanding Pet Barrier with Walk-through Door. This barrier has a maximum width of 68-1/2".Answer:
The 36" high version can be extended to 68.5". If centered in the 70" opening there would be about a 1.75" space at either end of the barrier. There is a 2" space between each slat in the barrier.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Is this a freestanding unit?
I do not want to permanently install it.
5 months, 1 week ago
Answers
Answer:
Yes absolutely - I bought this gate a year ago and it does not "install" on the wall at all. In fact, I regularly pick it up and move it to an alternate area of my home. Nevertheless, it is very sturdy and keeps my enthusiastic border collie contained. He likes to put his paws up on the gate, and it is designed so it barely moves. I love it and it looks great!I have a photo posted with some of my other responses - take a look.

I have a 45" opening, will this gate adjust to fit this width ??
Answers
Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. Unfortunately, this gate is adjustable between 54-3/4"-68-1/2"W, so would be too large for a 45" opening. We do offer the 20 inch version of this item which is available in two sizes - one of which can be adjusted between 40"- 70"W. We apologize for any inconvenience.Answer:
Yes! I bought this exact gate and width a year ago and I use it for a 55" opening (and it looks like it could expand another foot beyond that). This is an incredible product, well worth the investment, and looks GREAT in our house!Length of Ownership: < 1 year

I have an 84" opening. Can I buy 2 of these barriers and combine panels/pieces to fit the opening?
Answers
Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. Unfortunately due to the design of this item additional pieces cannot be combined together to create a larger gate. We apologize for any inconvenience.Answer:
If you did, you would have the 11" side pieces sticking out in the middle of your gate. They would butt up against each other, and I suppose you could wire them together with a nice bronze-looking wire. I think it would function fine, but you definitely would have those sides in the middle of your gate. I own this one, and I have it spanning a 55" width. See pic and you will clearly see the side panels. LOVE the gate!Length of Ownership: < 1 year

you can bolt it together at your desired width (bolts come with the gate) or do what I did and just stand it up all by itself at the width you want. It's very stable and the dogs haven't moved it once.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Are there panels within the gate, is there a flexibility to it? What are the sizes of each panel, can I adjust it to a width of 60in?
Im wondering if I can have to at different angles and not just straight.
Answers
Answer:
Thank you for your interest in this item. There are no panels within the gate; the bars are 2" apart. Unfortunately, the gate only goes straight across and cannot go in different directions. Both the 20"H barrier and 36"H barrier can be adjusted to a width of 60".11 months ago
Answer:
No flexibality if you are talking about putting it at angles. This gate has two panels, one is 37" and the other 38". It has pre-drilled holes at 6" intervals. I have a 52" opening, so yes it has enough gate left to extend to 60"Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Answer:
there are no panels inn this model but it is easy to step over. 60 inches is no problem at all. My gate could be 100 inches. I really like being able to have it double without having to fasten it together - makes is really easy to move. I'm still thinking about different angles. I think you can by using the freestanding feature. You could just move one of the panels to the angle you need. However, you might have a piece sticking out depending on the size you need.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

I have the 40" x 70" barrier. While there are two panels, they do not rotate. One panel is 37" and the other is 39". You can adjust the width from 40" to 70" in incriments of 3". My barrier is extended to 64" and is very sturdy.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

What length are the side returns of this and also it appears the gate can be on either side .. correct? Can the gate be in the middle also?
Answers
Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. The side panels of this gate measure 11 inches in length. Unfortunately, the gate is not able to be placed in the middle - it is only able to be placed on the one side. We apologize for any inconvenience.Answer:
It ccomes out from the wall where it's attached back 13.5 inches. The gate to walk thru is about 17 inches and the adjustment area can go out about 21 inches. I have it expanded to fill a spot I had a slider and it's open to 69 inches but I have another 5 I could add to it if needed. Hope this answers your questions, the gate is GORGEOUS!11 months ago
Answer:
11 inches and 7 inches for the feet.. The only way I see to get the gate on the other side is to have the feet sticking out the opposite way.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Answer:
Side returns are 11" wideNo, the gate can't go in the middle. It can only be configured one way/direction, as shown.
Answer:
The side returns are exactly 11" long. We assembled ours about 11 months ago, but I don't "think" you can have the gate on either side. Also, the gate's placement depends on how much or how little you expand the gate. See my pic - mine is spanning a 55" width (with more room available), so it puts the gate more to the side). The gate will fall wherever it does, based on how wide you make the gate - it can't be changed. But this is an AMAZING product and we love it!!Length of Ownership: < 1 year
