Great Gate!
We almost lost our little cat when the wind blew open our front door because the latch hadn't caught completely. This gate is amazing. It has essentially turned our foyer into a large vestibule so guests can enter without letting our treasured kitty escape. It's easy to put together, very well made, and nice looking! It's worth every penny knowing I can have peace of mind knowing that we won't lose our furry friend.

Really, really a great gate!
This is a wonderful looking freestanding metal barrier/gate. The look and feel is sturdy and, we are hoping, "chew proof"! (We also have a very similar great looking/functioning gate that is made of wood and wire. The difference for us is that the wood on this barrier/gate was attractive for the dogs to chew.) We highly recommend this metal barrier/gate and would buy it again.

Freestanding Barrier
Because I have a young active puppy, my daughter gave me the 22" barrier with a gate to help coral my dog. I liked so much that I looked on line an bought the longer barrier. I was very happy to see how easily both went together. They certainly improve the way my home looks!!

Best Pet Barrier Ever
This barrier is perfect. It's attractive, easy to step over and easy to move aside if the need arises. It keeps our wayward Yorkie from areas that we don't want her to enter. It arrived quickly and was very easy to assemble.

really like it and works great for us!
Love the flexibility of the gates. We purchased two a large and small one and they work well with our little maltipoo pup. We can easily step over them which makes it very convenient. One thing though: on the shorter gate the space between the last rail and the end of the gate it actually slightly wider than all the other spaces between rails! Our puppy noticed right away and could squeeze through. She is only three lbs right now so we are hoping she will grow enough that this will not be a problem. The spaces on the larger gate were not a problem and all were equal distances apart.

20 inch Freestanding Barrier
I'm delighted with my gate. I have a difficult wide space between the entry wall and my stairs which is an angle on the stair side. This gate is perfect. I didn't even have to fasten it together. The "feet" on the stair side can be angled to a perfect fit at my stairway. Keeps my two dogs (one is 90 pounds and a senior citizen and the other a 50lb lifewire) out of the living room which is just what I wanted. This is a bronzed wrought iron. I would have liked black better but my family all thinks this is fine. I bought the extra wide and almost the whole distance is double. Makes it very sturdy and I can fit it in any place should we move. Delivery was very fast and my gate is in perfect condition. Thank you so much - I'll definitely order from Frontgate again.

Love it!
This is the finest gate I've ever had - very stable as a stand-alone design. Better yet, it is an extremely attractive barrier between my kitchen and dining/living room areas to keep my puppy out of trouble. This was very easy to assemble and even came with extra screws. Truly love it!

just the trick
We've got an 80lb giant schnoodle who loves to rush the door when the door bell rings, but she respects this gate. It was easy to put together, but sturdy enough to take a couple of paws, and light enough to maneuver around without totally disassembling. I don't know how it would hold if she jumped up on it, but its rigid enough not to buckle when you open the gate to pass through and the mechanism keeps its alignment without fiddling around to find it.

buyer beware
I have never been disatisfied with anything I have ever purchased from frontgate, so this is a first. You can't make this gate small enough for a average hallway and the tension gate wasn't wide enough. This gate is not stable on carpeting, the supports on the back side make it impossibe to also turn the gate in the opposite direction so the door could be use in a better traffic flow. They need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Looks nice
We received our pet gate and love it! It fits with the decor and is well made. We decided we would like a gate that we can move away easily instead of the tension between the walls. We can move it or step over it.

Very Nice Freestanding Pet Gate
This pet gate is wonderful. Works very well. We use it to keep the dogs off people coming in the front door. Its very cute that they are so intersted in whos at the door that they don't realize they could just run around the other side of the living room to get to the door! But it holds up just fine to 2 Bostons and a Great Dane.

Wonderful dog pet gate
I needed to gate off our living room from our terrier. All the standard barriers and gates were ugly, cheap looking and generally unworkable. We came across the Frontgate Freestanding Pet Barrier. It is a beautiful bronze colored almost black metal barrier that is completely adjustable. The added advantage is that it has an easy and secure walk-through door allowing quick access to the room in which it is set up. Love it!

Nice Gate for Big Dogs
I raise and breed Bernese Mtn Dogs. I have searched for an attractive, tall gate with a door that has the flexibility of being both free standing or fixed. In general my dogs are not jumpers, so the 36-inch gating works very well for me. I had just called a carpenter to build/install gating with door for my back hall but I am calling him back to say don't bother. I have purchased two of these and will likely purchase another one or two. Some I will fix to the walls (back hall) and others I will use as free standing (bedrooms). The adjustable (wide) width is super with an open floor plan. My only suggestion for its design is that it would be nice if the overall gate position could be left or right (current design is left) .

Perfect Barrier!
We recently moved to a home that has an open floor plan. We bought two of these barriers and have them side by side. They look great and keep our 10 pound dog within her boundaries so she doesn't have the run of the house. The height of these barriers are perfect too! You can easily walk over them without feeling like you live in a gated community.

dog gate
Gate works well, very easy to put togeather and move. Dog is unable to move it by pushing on it. Only wish is that it was offered in different colors. The bronze color is ok, but doesn't really work with all white wordwook.

Very nice - great looking, as promised
Great looking pet gate. Nice bronze, oil rubbed metal - looks great in home; and, great improvement over adjustable we'd used previously. Can expand to be quite wide. Has heft / weight to it; but, not so much that it is difficult to move about the house. Gate is great - and worth the extra $$$ to have versus those without. Arrived on time.

Pet Gate - bronze finish (antique)
This gate is gorgeous! Simple to secure to opening, adjusts quite a bit for size, and looks so beautiful. I have a lanai I finished into a den and it's off the living room/kitchen...want to keep the two little dogs I have in their own area when I have company and this is perfect. Execellent Pet Gate
I love this gate! This is actually the second one I have purchased because I used the first one and was so impressed. I have two GSPs and a Chocolate Lab - this gate keeps all three adult pups safe from harm and from moving into areas of the house where they could be destructive..
It is sturdy, perfect height, adjustable and mimics the iron staircase in my entryway. I love that we can walk through the accessable door so my family doesn't have to move the barrier each time we want to pass on the other side. However, while it is robust and keeps the pets at bay it is still light enough to move easily when necessary.
Great gate for staircases and entryways without doors. Love, love, love!

Best Purchase ever
We love this product. We bought it to keep our dogs from going upstairs, since that area is carpeted. We only use the front section and zip-tie it to the staircase. It truly looks like part of the stairs. If we need to take the gate down, we simply cut the ties and then re-install with new ones after we have finished our project. We have recommended this to many of our friends, once they realize it is not part of the stair case.

Beautiful but tricky gate
I purchased this gate to spare my carpeted areas from our chihuahua. It has worked wonders. However the gate mechanism doesn't work as well as the gate I purchased for the narrower doorway. The other gate closes easily, but I have to manually lift this gate to close it. It would be great if they both functioned as easily. The gate is beautiful and matches my wrought iron stair railings, pairing it perfectly in my home.

Excellent extra long gate attractive and functiona
This is an attractive freestanding barrier in our foyer. When we had a pet run through the foyer doors and get hit by a car, I was told of the Frontgate website. I ordered it immediately. It has given me confidence that once the pets go through the double doors to the foyer they are kept from running out the door when someone is out the door. It stops them from going any further. So happy I ordered it. Thanks for making it available.
