22"H Free-standing Steel Mesh Pet Gate Barrier 4.8 5 160 175
Very impressed I actually ordered this item after reading the reviews left from prior purchases of this product. I was very impressed with the quality. It not only serves as the pet barrier I purchased it for, but also as a decorative piece of furniture. I would definitely shop with your company again. Fast and quick service also. Thanks again. April 9, 2013
Problem solved! And attractive. Two little dogs Yorkie and Shizu who are cute and stubborn little trouble makers. Didn't even need to screw the two gates together, just butting the two ends against one another works great. Oriental rug is happy, mommy is happy! July 4, 2013
Beautiful gate I love this gate in terms of how it looks. My only problem with it is that it is not a sliding gate. I would have liked to leave it in the doorway and slide it open to get in and out. It is adjustable but only to preset drilled holes. You put the screws in where it fits your door the best. It is still a very nice gate, just cumbersome to move around. February 22, 2013
beautifully built This gate is gorgeous, easy to put together and very high quality. Unfortunately I had to exchange it for the taller one. Unless your dog has very short legs, they may be able to jump over it. My two sailed right over within 10 minutes. The larger one is more expensive, of course, but has a gate, which is very convenient. It is so pretty you won't mind having it up. November 27, 2012
No more ugly pet gate! I purchased two of the smaller stand-alone gates. They look lovely in my home, but most importantly, they are sturdy , yet I can move them easily. I have large dogs and they both respect the gate. My dogs are 60 lbs each. These gates are very versatile and I can even leave a little room on the side for my cat to come and go. Thanks Frontgate!! December 21, 2012
Great Product! My 22" free standing barrier arrived prompty and was very well packed. It took about 25 minutes to assemble and came together with no problems at all. It is strong, sturdy and attractive. It is low enough to easily step over but high enough to contain small animals. We use it for our rabbits and it is perfect. Thank you Frontgate! December 12, 2012
Great Purchase I received this purchase quicker than expected and it exceeded my expectations. Assembly was easy. The height is perfect for my small dogs and it goes with my decor. My only complaint is it has a slight ding in the mesh but it was so small and not really noticeable from the front I decided to keep the purchase. Highly recommend this item. October 29, 2012
Beautiful and functional After installing new and $$$ window treatments we were afraid the cat would scratch them to shreds. We searched high and low for pet gates to keep her away. Most are functional yet ugly. These gates are the PERFECT solution. They look great and even appear to be part of the decor. A guest even commented on what a great look it is. November 26, 2012
Fabulous Pet Gate I ordered the larger size in this pet gate to prevent my small yorkie from going up the stairs. It is very sturdy and attractive. Currently I am using it without attaching it to the other half of the gate so I can confine her to the kitchen which has two openings. Best pet gate I have seen and reasonable price for the quality November 15, 2012
Great Purchase! These gates are a beautiful way to keep our dogs contained! They are heavy-weight, so the dogs do not just push them out of the way...yet very stylish! Easy to put together and I like the pads that keep my floors and door frames safe from scratches! April 29, 2013
Very Satisfaied Customer I love my 22"H Free-standing Steel Mesh Pet Gate. I love that its portable and I can move it from room to room. It's the perfect size and it looks so decorative too. I would recommend this gate to anyone who has a pet and is looking for this size and style. April 19, 2013
Quality Product Beautiful, quality gate heavy enough and sturdy August 21, 2013
Serves Purpose Well This gate is handsome, heavy and serves the purpose of confining our elderly dog to keep him from stairs in our home. Because it is free standing, we need to put it in place only when our dog is left alone - and it is very easy to slide away. It was easy to assemble. March 26, 2013
bought one than another The gates are so rich looking.....you will not be disappointed! I bought one to keep my dogs out of my living room..... small one I liked it so much I bought another for my dining room long enough for double doors The price was really reasonable April 23, 2013
Outstanding quality product I was thrilled when I received these. They are sturdy and beautifully designed. I have two rambunctious dogs that would push over the old barriers I had, but these barriers are heavy with a wide base. There is no way to knock these over. They are easy to set up, too. Thanks for such a quality product! January 5, 2013
Stop Searching You can have it all! We have looked high and low for a beautiful and practical metal pet gate. We even considered designing and making our own until we came across these. Worth the money, and they work. We purchased 2 of these and also 2 of the tall/walk through gates. Just perfect! February 3, 2013
Great Purchase Gate delivered quickly. Put together in 15 minutes. No problems. Nothing missing. Beautiful craftmanship. Perfect to keep Cat and Morkie separated. Neither one tries to get over gate and they can still see and smell each other. Will definitely be purchasing more from your company. February 3, 2013
Awesome Gate! Perfect height for my Bulldog and just right to step over... August 5, 2013
Beautiful, Solid Construction This pet gate is sturdy and beautiful. The bronze finish is very classy. Better yet, the gate is safe for my dog; I do not fear that it might fall over on him. Only one negative: The holes on the left (stage left, that is) arm do not line up with the center portion of the gate. That made assembling this item difficult. March 8, 2012
Sturdy and attractive pet gate Attractive and very sturdy I have two Sih Tzu's and it contains them beautifully. July 16, 2013
beautiful dog gate The 22" free-standing mesh pet gate is beautiful. I have been using baby gates for years and this is so much stronger and it is great to look at. No more rushing around to hide the baby gates in the closet when guests arrive. None of my dogs or grandbabies will knock this gate down! October 19, 2012
Pet gates They are beautiful and well made. I would love to have them on wheels so I could roll them out of my way. My Yorkies are only 3 pounds so they couldn't move them. But they do make locks for wheels for larger dogs. They really look nice in the living room area. December 19, 2012
Very nice little gate We are using this gate at the bottom of the stairs to keep our dog from going up. It is very nicely built; nice and sturdy. I would definitely recommend this gate. May 16, 2013
Steel Mesh Pet Gate Love this gate. Very sturdy and attractive also easy to put together. Would recommend this to anyone who needs to gate off an area from you dogs. I have 3 smaller dogs and it works just great. April 14, 2013
Beautiful and effective I bought this gate as I had purchased another model last year and it is no longer available. This gate is absolutely gorgeous and my yorkie cannot squeeze past it as she would nudge it with her nose to move the other one! I will be getting another one of these for another opening. August 7, 2012
Steel Pet Gate The gate looks sooooooo much better than the old plastic one we had been using and is very sturdy, yet not too heavy to move when necessary. Great price on a very good product. April 8, 2013
22" H Free-standing Steel Mesh Pet Gate Attractive, sturdy, and easily assembled. This pet barrier (not a gate) is perfect for blocking a room that is very visible from the front entry of my home. I highly recommend this stylish barrier. March 1, 2013
Doggie gates I ordered two Doggie Gates from Frontgate and their items display and ordering process was clear and simple. They immediatley confirmed ship dates and my items were received on time in well padded and insulated boxes. The product was great craftmanship and sturdy. February 28, 2012
Beautiful gate! I am so glad I bought this gate. Keeps my Maltese out of the game room when we are not using it, but low enough for us to step over. Very well made, and was easy to put together. Has a very classy look to it, unlike those plastic gates in box stores. August 4, 2012
Beautiful Pet Gate! This gate is even prettier than it shows in the catalog! It was packaged great and super simple to put together. Took less than 5 minutes. Easy to adjust and very sturdy. Well made product. I've also ordered the larger gate. Would recommend these to anyone. March 21, 2012

Also, I see comments about it being heavy...I will be pushing it aside or sliding it smaller... when he is allowed into the other rooms. Is that easy to do on a daily basis?
Love the look!

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. This gate weighs 29lb, which would make it easy for you to move the gate out of the way when he is allowed in other rooms. As for if your Yorkie will be able to move this out of the way to sneak through the sides, we have no way to guarantee that. Some dogs are afraid to move items as they fear they will fall on them, while others are fearless. It would also depend on the placement of the gate - if there was anything on either side to assist with keeping it in place.

Answer:
My yorkie is unable to move it due to the weight of the gate. Be prepared for the weight, it is not easy to pick up and move around, but moving one end to let him through would not be a problem. Sliding it smaller is not an option as the gate is adjusted to the size you need when you assemble it, then you insert several screws to hold it in that position. You do not have the option to constantly change the size without getting out the tool and removing/re-inserting the screws.

I doubt your yorkie will be able to push it. I have four small dogs and this has never happened. This gate is not a good candidate for daily adjustment. It can easily be moved by a person however. It is not too heavy.

Answer:
I move mine regularly, just pick it up from the sides. It's not light but not really heavy to move either. It looks great and is absolutely sturdy enough to keep a yorkie contained. I have a Bichon/Shih tzu, a yorkie, a coton du tulear and her very energetic puppy and my gates work very well to keep them in/out where I want them - no squeezing by and they cannot knock the gate aside either.

Answer:
Your Yorkie will not be able to move it, it weighs close to 30 pounds and I am disabled and am able to move mine without any issues. I will say they are so attractive, that I do not even move mine much, as all 4 bedrooms have beautiful FRONTGATE gates attached that open, the hard wood ones they no longer make, with a little door I walk thru and they are all so beautiful, they actually make my doorways look better!! Every person that enters my home comments on my gates and wants to know where I got them all! I have a 10 pound schnoodle and a 22 pounds schnoodle and neither one of them can move them! Get them :)

Answer:
In general, he should not be able to push it. It's pretty sturdy and heavy. However, if the gate doesn't fit the opening properly, and leaves inches open, or if you haven't used the screws to hold the end pieces securely in place, he could maybe wiggle those and snake through. You can't slide them smaller. The gate is screwed together into the configuration you need for your opening. The pieces don't 'slide'. You'd just have to lift the unit and move it aside. I size my gates so that the side pieces are inside the opening, not in front of the opening (as in the picture)... then my dog can't push or work it open.

Answer:
The footings are very attractive and mine are on my hardwood floors and do not scratch your floors. The gates are barely 30 pounds and can be lifted even by myself being disabled. The best thing I can advise is to lift them, not drag if your concerned about your floors, but my floors have not one mark from my gates. You may ant to apply a felt stick on pad just for GP if that eases your mind. The gates match my dining room so beautifully, that I no longer even remove them like the older ugly baby gates I had because they are so decorative and people have noticed them as they enter my home and fall in love and want them for themselves.
