THE PERFECT GATE
We searched at least a 100 sites and none compared to what Frontgate had online. We looked-for something functional as well as decorative and this gate fits both needs. The gate is like a piece of furniture and is not intrusive. The price is above average, but so is the product. As we know, you get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Beautiful Gate
Between grandkids and dogs we have kept a folding gate up to keep everyone out of the living room for now. And the gate looked awful and had to be propped up. When I saw this in the catalogue, I thought it would be a great replacement. It is a beautiful piece and looks wonderful. The ability to open a door to go into the room is so nice and much better than stepping over the old one. We are really happy with it and recommend it.

Beautiful Appearance
I puchased one freestanding and one tension mount gate, both in the lower height style.. The freestanding is BEAUTIFUL, works well and is free from defects!
The tension mount is another story returned the 1st one due to several defects. 2nd gate is no better with a defective door latch and drill hole problems with the tension mount not worth the hassle of another exchange and trip to UPS! DISAPPOINTED!

good looking and sturdy
Much nicer than a wood gate I purchased elsewhere. My only issue is this one is about 2" taller, so a bit difficult for vertically challenged folks to step over.

very poor finish quality
we have a house full of one of the other gates. thought we would try this and ordered 2...BIG mistake. the finish is terrible, chipped and scrapped everywhere. looks like it was used hard and returned and sold as new.

Fair at best
With the price I paid the expectation was that I would receive a high quality product. It was not that at all..if it were made well this would have been the perfect pet gate. It was also too big and heavy to even think about returning. Customer Service gave me a 10% discount since I was not satisfied...thanks!

Very nice gate
This gate was much more beautiful and sturdy/heavy than anticipated. It is very pretty and our little dog sneaks in and out of the small door with ease. Easy install. Great value for the price!

Functional and Beautiful
The stairway to our basement is open to the family room. For years we have been using a baby gate to keep our small dogs from going into the basement Not only was that an eyesore but the gate would always fall down the stairs if not braced against the newel post correctly. Needless to say, when I saw this freestanding pet barrier in the catalog I was intrigued. The gate was easy to assemble and the is very attractive to look at. The gate is very sturdy and easily contains our 12 lb dogs. It provides a dependable barrier and the mesh front keeps the area visually 'open'. This was just what we were looking for. I love it.!

Mesh Pet Gate
I ordered two of these and the widest one is great, it fits nicely and is the size stated in the catalogue. However, the smaller one is supposed to open to a width of 41 1/2" with two screws (side by side) both top & bottom to support the gate. By using only one screw top & bottom I was only able to get the gate to a width of 40". This additional 1 1/2" is important because my hall is 46" wide. By centering the gate with a couple inches on each side I thought that would be good enough to keep my dog on one side. Right now I'm not sure it's going to work too well, but I'm willing to give it a test for a week or two before I decide if I will return the smaller one. I do really like the looks of the gates. Perfect
With the addition of Apollo the "Can Leap Gates in a Single Bound" dog, I needed gate that was tall enough to contain him and yet attractive enough to place between my living room and my kitchen/family room. This gate is perfect. It's attractive and it has foiled my incredible leaping dog.

Nice design - poor workmanship
This gate is very pretty to look at with the excepion of
the terrible finish work on the metal. It's really not at all
up to the usual Frontgate standards. Will keep because its too much trouble and too expensive to
return but would not recommend ordering until the
metal finish is improved.

Mesh Pet Gate
Very good gate. Easy to assemble and looks very nice. It is only 22' high, which is fine for our small dogs. Smaller gate does NOT have a gate though. All in all, very good!

Great find! *****
I'd been looking for a gate that would serve this purpose but also have eye appeal as it sits at our entry way. I needed exactly the dimensions given for large ( Bernese MT dogs) & this gate is not only very study, but almost elegant in appearance. People compliment about it as they come in & ask WHERE I found something so different than white or wood "Baby"gates.It looks like part of the decor & is VERY easy to assemble ( less than 10 minutes)& easy to go in & out. LOVE it! Would highly recommend it to anyone needing a gate to keep pets or babies,,,in /out~~~Thanks for a great product!!

Fabulous Pet Gate
This gate fits into the decor of my home. The very wide open door between the living room and kitchen was closed off perfectly by this gate's dimensions. It looks very nice. It is not like anything you would find in regular pet stores. This is quality and classy. The pass through door closes and latches securely. The gate stays where it was intended. The dog that it is securing is a 10 - 11 lb pup. The metal grating separates the cats from the pup so neither is going to be injured until they are all socialized. One caveat: watch out if you have small children. They would need to be supervised around this gate.

Pretty nice gate
We are pleased with the gate---it was easy to put together and looks great. My only issue with it is that it's not quite as adjustable as I'd thought from the description. We had actually ordered 2 to use to gate our dogs in our sunroom, and one fits great across a larger archway, but we couldn't make the other one small enough for the arch on the other side, which is just a little bigger than a standard door, and both the feet and door direction keep you from flipping it to make it work on the other side of the doorway. If it's a close call, don't throw the shipping box out until you're sure it fits.

Lovely to look at
With three large dogs, certain rooms need to be gated off. These gates are quite attractive and not offensive to have standing 24/7 in my home. They have a very decorative and beautiful appearance and go with my decor beautifully.

Perfect!
All around great, easy to put together and use. Love the sturdiness and quality. It is a nice addition to have and not make the room look- ugh, pet lives here. Even when not in use it looks great and is a added decor when in use, have had comments of- Oh, this is nice! I like that style- where did u find that at? It's sturdy and looks great!

disappointed
the unit arrived scratched and was missing rubber protective pads. some of the pads that were there were dettached. also, the gate is not reversible if you want the opening on the other side. i guess it could be but then the non finished/latched exposed side would be facing the family room

Good product
This is a nice product. The auto-close feature is nice. However, it was hard to fit in our doorway with two mouldings around the bottom of the hallway. It would be easier if there were none in that area. Also, it was hard to align the latch, even following the instructions. However, it looks nice and has been a big improvement over other gates we've tried to use in the past.

Very decorative- but check width!
The best looking pet gate I've ever seen. Very well built. The size in the catalog said it would fit a 32 1/2" door, which is a common interior door width, especially for an older house. Most newer houses are only 30". However, when I received the doors, the minimum size to fit was 33 1/2" (as measured and according to the manual that came with the door). I was able to "jerry" rig the doors by taking out the tension rods and screwing the doors into the casing. If I thought I could have found an attractive door as that somewhere else I would have sent them back, but they are so well made and decorative, I had to make them work.

Great gate!
Looks so much nicer than traditional pet gates. Got the 42"high gate to keep the cats out of the bedroom at night. So far they haven't figured out how to jump over it! I am worried my littlest cat will squeeze through the bars (there's no mesh there). Gave the product 4 stars because of that, and because I also would like to be able to have the option to open the gate door from either side (be able to switch the door either way depending on how the room is laid out). As it is, we have the "pretty side" facing into the bedroom because of the way the gate door opens, just would've liked for it to be facing into the living room instead. Other than that, very easy to use and so much prettier!! Thank you Frontgate!

Sturdiest Gate Ever
To honest, I thought I was getting a wooden pet gate but this unit is metal. It is the best pet gate that I seen on the market for the price. The only small negative is that the entryway that I want to use it in is two inches shorter than the sma;;est width of the gate. However, I fixed that with drilling a few new holes and I knew about the width diffferencfes before purchase. The gate is spring loaded and there are pads installed on the sides to protect the walls. This is just good engineering.

Was hoping for higher quality product,,,,,
The gate is beautiful in appearance but has problems with detail work. Considered returning due to fit and finish. Paint is missing. Latch does not line up and gate will not stay closed. Gate is wobbly. Some of the welding is poorly done. Our dogs are quite small so we are able to keep them contained. A larger dog could easily push the gate open since the gate does not stay latched. We are repeat Frontgate customers and this is NOT the quality we are accustomed to getting from Frontgate. Would not recommend to a friend.

22 Inch Free Standing Mesh Gate
Two gates arrived properly packaged and were easily assembled. The quality is very nice and they are sturdy and designed not to tip over. The gates are perfect for a small or large dog. The appearance is an asset to our/any home decor. I would highly recommend this gate.

Elegant
Quality and fit/finish are top notch..Had some concerns about the mesh durability, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was not screen door type material. It is like a firescreen type which is impervious to the dog's claws.

Mesh pet gates
The pet gates are very sturdy and very easy to assemble. I have a bichon who loves to jump when visitors arrive and this gate offers restraint. My decor is a combination of styles so I wish there was a more contemporary version as this would be perfect for a tuscan or more elaborate decor, which is the only reason I gave this 4 stars as it just is a bit strong in design for my decor.

Very Nice Gate
Very nice looking gate. Metal construction. Best looking dog gate I have seen.
The lower version is easy to step over, but a jumper could easily jump over it.
The free standing gate is adjusted by removing 4 bolts and moving to a new set of holes. It is not possible to get an exact fit +- roughly 4 inches. This was not an issue for us as it is free standing and it does not need to fit exactly.
