I love my new gate! I was worried that it would ruin the look of my formal living room, but it blends nicely with my decor. It has a formal look of its own, considering it's a gate.

Expandable Freestaning Mesh Pet Gate
It's beautiful and so worth the money!!! One of my friends is a realtor, she came by to visit and the gate was one of her first comments.... "the gate is beautiful, I may have to get one for our house!!!" It is sturdy, i love details and the door is so helpful! Excellent buy, we love it!!!

to make it more perfect
The only thing I would love to see,that would make this set up beyond perfect, is to make it attachable or suspension mounted. We have a large dog and if he were to jump up on the fence,it would move and allow him access to rooms we are keeping him out of, but beyond that I love it. It looks attractive and formal enough for my taste. Would definately recommend it to people and would consider buying three more if I could mount them.

best purchase ever
Sturdy and great looking. We have four large dogs (60-90 lbs). The gate keeps them out of the basement. Swinging door is easy to use. Wish we would have purchased this years ago!

The mesh pet gate i purchased is terrific.It was easy to assembly and looks good . I can easily step over it and the dogs never tried to get past it...would highly recommend it...

Exceeded Expectations
The 34"H Expandable Free-standing Mesh Pet Gate exceeded my expectations. The gate is not only functional, but it has an elegant look that really compliments my home. 2nd purchase
The gate looks ok. This is my 2nd purchase of this gate (first time purchase was nicer and seemed sturdier). My first purchase lasted approx. 2 two years then needed replacement. I have it in a very high traffic area in my home and it is used constantly. I would return and exchange this 2nd purchase though , as it is a bit wobbly and there are other minor issues, but I have bigger fish to fry. So I will keep it.....It's not a lifetime purchase. All in all, it's nicer than all other gates I have searched on the web and better than the alternative. The iron matches my decor.

Great Product
The Expandable Freestanding Mesh Pet Gate arrived on time. It was extremely easy to put together to fit the 55" opening between the family room and dining room. The gate is very attractive and allows "humans" easy access to both rooms while limiting the canines to the family room.

The Cat's opinion
The gate is very well made and attractive I love the scroll work and color of the metal. The gate would work great for a dog however a cat is able to get around the edges. The main gate latch should be adjustable the spring does not always close the bolt. The gate would get a 5 star rating on appearance. We added some bars to the side to prevent the cat from getting around the edges so it can be fixed but not a great design.

Just what I wanted
I wanted a wide gate I could walk thru instead of step over and this fit the bill perfectly. It also had to look nice because its at the front of the house. The gate swings easy and since the dogs can see thru it they don't jump on it to see whats going on in the other room. Its not perfectly level because it does wobble a little but not enough to matter. I would recommend this gate.

Lovely and Well made
I bought this gate to use in the large opening going into our living room...it is very pretty, elegant, and sturdy. I have Cavaliers and they do not push the gate or jump over it. Serves it's purpose well....heavier to move than some but that is why it's sturdy and of good quality. It did take me a little while to figure out but I'm not too handy. Well packaged and arrived quickly.

Superior quality
I already own one of Frontgate's dog gates and I needed a second one for my vacation house. I chose this model because it had a very warm and classy look. I am as pleased with this dog gate as I was with the first one I bought 2 years ago. You won't be disappointed.

beautifully built
This gate is gorgeous, easy to put together and very high quality. Unfortunately I had to exchange it for the taller one. Unless your dog has very short legs, they may be able to jump over it. My two sailed right over within 10 minutes. The larger one is more expensive, of course, but has a gate, which is very convenient. It is so pretty you won't mind having it up.

Very satisfied with this gate.
I bought this through the Skymall catalog which showcases Frontgate items. I was tired of the usual utilitarian and flimsy pet store pet gates. I love this gate. It's perfect... both beautiful and sturdy. It holds back a 200lb mastiff and 34" tall Russian Wolfhounds. I am very very happy with this lovely pet gate.

Beautiful and functional
After installing new and $$$ window treatments we were afraid the cat would scratch them to shreds. We searched high and low for pet gates to keep her away. Most are functional yet ugly. These gates are the PERFECT solution. They look great and even appear to be part of the decor. A guest even commented on what a great look it is.

Great gates!
I purchased 2 of these gates to contain my four small dogs. The gates came quickly and I received fabulous customer service regarding having them shipped to Canada. The gates are exactly as they are advertised to be on the site. They are great looking, sturdy yet light enough to move, low enough to step over but high enough to contain my dogs and they were simple for me to assemble in just a few minutes time by myself. These gates will also be fantastic to keep my infant grandkids safe at my house as they grow and begin to crawl around and explore. Definately a good purchase.

dual gate door
like the look of it, but the pads that stick to the wall aren't sticky enough. A short, pointy protrusion on the pad, that could grip the wall better, would be nice. Otherwise it looks nice, keeps the dogs in place better than the previous "child" gate

Worth the money
Bought this gate to keep my two Golden Retrivers from having the run the house. Very sturdy, don't have to worry about the dogs knocking it down. Have received several complements on how nice it looks. Only negatives are: The gate closes automatically, so can't leave it open unless you prop something against it. And it's heavy, so a little difficult to move- But thats what makes it work.

Great Gate
This gate is unusually good looking and very easy to install. I was concerned that I didn't need this tall a gate but it actually is easier to open (no stooping) when carrying items through it. Sturdy, solid construction and everything has stayed snug through several months of use to date. Keeps my gang in place and my cat happy!

Excellent dog gate
Perfect! Right size to block my medium size dogs (50 lbs) from going up the stairs and with a quick, easy move, keeping them in the back hallway when we have guests.

Excellent purchase
Excellent pet divider that looks very well in a room. It does not give you the pet look. I have it adjusted where my dog can go in or out. When I want him to stay put, I close the door.

Fabulous Pet Gate
I ordered the larger size in this pet gate to prevent my small yorkie from going up the stairs. It is very sturdy and attractive. Currently I am using it without attaching it to the other half of the gate so I can confine her to the kitchen which has two openings. Best pet gate I have seen and reasonable price for the quality

Does the job, beautifully
I bought this gate to keep to keep my Bernese Mt. Dog from wandering the house when we're gone. He has always been very trustworthy & dependable in the house, but as he is older and now suffering from DM, he hasn't got the control he used to. This gate keeps him contained in a safe (tiled) room in case he has an accident, but still allows him to see freely beyond it and therefore he doesn't stress out. In fact...since we put up the gate, he actually hasn't had many issues, I suppose because he is not wandering around or getting excited seeing 'exciting' things outside. He just seems content to lay on his bed in 'his room' until we return. He is a big dog, and could certainly move it if he was so inclined, but he is so docile and would not do that unless there was a reason...for example, a fire or an intruder. Therefore this gate works perfectly for us, but also looks beautiful, so I feel no need to move it when we have company. The door makes access simple and works great. As others have mentioned, it could be permanently attached if need be, but for our situation, it is fine as a stand alone. It arrived in perfect shape and is a breeze to 'assemble'...is a matter of inserting a few screws to set the width and popping in a few pins to hold the panels together. I felt the price was fair, the quality was great and the shipping was super fast. What else can you ask for??

Pet Gate
The box which the gate came in was in poor condition and I was afraid that the gate would be damaged. Fortunately, there was no damage to the gate! It turns out that the gate is better looking than I expected, expecially the mesh portion, which I didn't expect it to be metal. Only problem we had was the latch wasn't working after a couple of use, but my husband managed to fix it. Hopefully the gate is durable enough to last a couple of years. Also, since it is made out of metal, there's a tendancy for the gate to scratch hardwood floors, which it didn't expect! I temporarily solved it by placing felt on the bottom and side panel, which is a bit of a nuisance.

I have an opening that is 53 inches. Is there a way to configure it to be less than 55 inches? I need the taller gate (34") vs. the 22 inch to keep our 80 lb. golden retriever out of the living room, but the opening to that room is 53".
