34-inch Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate 4.6 5 103 109
Beautiful gates We ordered two gates to keep our two large dogs in one area of our home. We wanted something nice to blend in with our decor. These gates are not only beautiful compared to all others on the market. They are also very well made, sturdy and doing their job. I would recommend them for sure. May 4, 2013
pet gate order X2270772-00017 I ordered item FG64303 bronze 34H tension mount pet gate(28.5-42). The first one that I received was bent so bad that I could not bend it so that the latch parts matched up. The replacement was also bent but not as badly. So i bent it enough to get the two latch parts to match up. But even after that it seems that the gate is not very stable at the top and that is leaving 1/8 of an inch between the two latch parts. If you adjust it so the is no space between the two latch parts it is much more stable. I would not recommend that anybody buy this gate. April 11, 2013
High Quality Pet Gate Pet gate installed easily and is strong yet stylish. Assembly directions could have been better... but overall experience was positive. April 11, 2013
Very Happy I purchased the 36" Barrier gate as well as the 34" Tension mounted gate to contain an Australian Shepherd puppy. They have been great. We also have a 100 Lb Golden and an 80 Lb Lab Aussie mix that have minded the gates as well. None of the 3 have tried to jump up on the gates yet, so I can't say how they would hold up if there was that much weight on them. We are very happy with our purchase. March 27, 2013
beautiful looks but use does not equal appearance Can't get the door to function properly in the opening. Beautiful looking but I will probably return it. March 26, 2013
Beautiful and functional dog gate This is a high quality product...sturdy, opens easily, and very attractive. I liked it so much I bought 4. Would definitely recommend this to anyone! March 26, 2013
21" Gate I wanted a gate that had a higher end look, not a plastic gate. The quality is great. The only negative I can think of is that the small doggy door doesn't open flat against the gate, it opens at 90 degrees. May 9, 2013
not what i wanted this was too short for my area, and i want to send it back March 21, 2013

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in the 34-inch Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate. This gate expands from 28-1/2" - 33"W and the Extra-Wide expands from 28-1/2" - 42" W. We do not have a tension-mount gate that expands up to 54", you may want to look at our free-standing pet barriers as we offer some that expand up to 70"W.

Answer:
No, this is a pressure gate. However you might look at the free standing gate they carry If you only need the short version ( 20" high) there is a model that stands measuring 27" and extends to 40". I have both sizes of freestanding gates and they are very sturdy!

Answer:
The (4) disc's which offer the pressure points (top/bottom) of contact on the gate are 2" in diameter. If this space is available on the door frame I feel the gate is a fit for you. I have mine at a opening which has no door, but the wall space is 4 inches, no problem.

I need two gates, both 36-42 inches high, but around 48 inches wide. Nothing I see on your site is close. do you have anything else or any way to modify to a wider or narrower width

Answer:
I have the 34" expanding black iron gate and used small blocks on one side to "extend" to 39" but I don't suggest going any bigger. The free standing model that matches, can only adapt down to 53" but if you have "open space" like at the end of stairs... you could adapt this model as I did. Both are great quality and look good!
