50-gallon Rain Barrel 4 5 6 6
RAIN BARREL I purchased 2 rain barrels which we beautiful and very well constructed. The 2 spicots come in very handy. The shipment arrived in a couple of days and boxed well to prevent damage. Great quality and a great buy!!! September 3, 2014
Great so far Looks great, light gray color.I took off debris screen and have downspout going directly into rain barrel. With it on a lot of water sprayed out everywhere if it rains hard. One good rain and it is full. Had to hook a hose up to lowest brass drain and keep it open if it's going to rain and let it run out of hose into yard area off the brick patio and away from house foundation. I also drilled 3 small holes in top planter area, otherwise about 1 1/2 inches always sits in this area. There is a drainage side hole but it is too high, should be at the bottom of inside planter for proper drainage. May 21, 2014
Lovely Rain Barrel This rain barrel is very nice and made of quality materials. It looks lovely in my backyard vs. the rain barrel of my neighbor that does not look as nice. I put flowers in the top, however when it rained the debris screen holes are so small the rain gushed over the top and a lot of my soil washed out. I really like the two spigots, one high, one low - a back saver. June 11, 2014
Great system I've had this rain barrel system for three weeks and so far feel it was a great purchase - I like that it is a "closed" system and that the lid can't be removed (I have young kids). I also like having two drains for filling a bucket or using a hose. Overall great system. May 20, 2014
Sent Back These were much larger than pictured. Not that much rain in Southern California, but we need to save the little rain we get! We did not like the styling, too modern for our 1929 home. Returned these items! May 5, 2014
Rain Barrel Lightweight, well built and easy to put together. It looks great at the entry way to our back garden. May 6, 2014

Also, is there a way for water to drain out of the top where a plant would go?

Answer:
The top does not come off, but there is a square opening in the top of the 50-gallon Rain Barrel.

Answer:
The 50-gallon Rain Barrel is constructed of polyethylene, which is highly durable, however, we do recommend storing the rain barrel indoors during the winter.
