Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Umbrella Base We live on a hill with LOTS of wind. I purchased this base last year for a teak Frontgate umbrella on our pool deck. It keeps the umbrella stable no matter the weather. We liked it so much that we purchased a second one this year. It is pricey, but worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fifty pounds is not enough Unless you have a location where there is zero wind, you have to order the extra 30 lb. weight if you purchase a 9' umbrella. We love the umbrella, but it blew over in just a slight breeze. The added weight seems to work, but think the catalogue needs to make that clear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Base too large for table I have a Brown Jordan table, and the part of the base that holds the umbrella turned out to be too large to fit the hole for the umbrella in the table's support. Although the base is sturdy and can be used with the umbrella to stand alone, it doesn't quite serve the function I'd intended. The actual dimension (in addition to "Accepts umbrella poles up to 2" dia." which is only the inner dimension) would have been helpful here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Questioning quality I purchase a deck umbrella with the 50ft stand and I am reviewing the stand. I have only had it several weeks and already the finish on the stand, just around the area of the base where the umbrella pole connects is peeling. I expected higher quality, anticipating that the product would look great for a minimum of several years. Otherwise, delivery and service from Frontgate on the order was excellent. The product, umbrella, is attractive and I will have to see how it holds up. The 50lb base is not adequate for areas with period higher winds. I live on a ridge on the CA Coast and it will not hold the umbrella up if there are higher winds.

Is there any way to lower the umbrella stand?

I find it is a bit too tall overall once assembled.

We sell a number of different umbrellas so we would need to make sure which one you have, but most umbrellas do not have a variable height. Please call us at 1-800-537-8484 with the order number and/or purchaser's name and zip code so we can see which style you have.

How thick is the base of this stand

I want to use this stand and a new Frontgate umbrella with my existing table. The stand must fit under a couple of cross beams under the center of my oval table. There is about one inch of clearance. Will the base fit under those crossmembers.

Thank you for contacting the Frontgate Product Specialist Department. The dimensions of the ripped base are 19"diameter, 2.5" high to top of base, 17" from top of base to top of sleeve.
