Rated 4 out of 5 by *Beautiful but not perfect 15-feet Ashland Fir* I guess I'm one of the few that appreciates the sparseness of the branches. There are enough spaces between the branches that you can see all the way to the other side of the tree. But this makes the tree look more realistic. A real tree is NOT supposed to be super dense with branches. This tree also looks realistic because of the plastic needles in the outer half of the branches. The inner half sadly looks like any other fake cheap tree. But when you turn on the lights, it WOWS! EVERYONE who has seen it (around 20 people) have all complimented on how exquisitely beautiful the tree is. I totally agree. This tree (when lit) is a spectacular sight to behold, whether you are looking down from the 2nd floor or looking up at it from the ground, Some BAD points (so you won't think I work for Frontgate or have a friend or family member who works there): (a) 2 burnt bulbs (out of 2600) (b) 4 ugly STEEL cables hanging down and 4 corresponding hooks at tree stand (I don't use them and can't cut them off - so I try to hide them by tucking it in the center of the tree and block with stragetically placed ornaments (c) stand too large for most tree skirts (d) requires a lot of ornaments. Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful tree just wish it was more "green". The Ashland is a very, very beautiful tree! It is an awesome Christmas tree shape (slim, but not too thin), and has an abundance of lights making it look fantastic. The only thing I do not love about the tree is that it has almost a blue spruce color. It's just not a true "green". I soooo wish this was more the color of the fraser fir because I like the shape better. Nice quality tree though. October 30, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the Quality of Year's Past Not impressed with this tree. Seems like trees I've purchased in the past through Frontgate were much higher quality. For instance, halfway back on the branches the needles change from high-quality synthetic needles to a markedly different, lower quality filler material. However, here are pros and cons: Pros: Nice slim, conical, shape; easy setup, plenty of lights Cons: High quality needles only on the tips of the branches (cheaper, filler on the interior); a bit sparse (you can see the metal "trunk" in places if you look more than just casually I likely will be replacing the clear one next year (already have ornaments on it...too much of a hassle to take down). As for the Royal color scheme... it's downright orange. Looks like a Halloween tree. I didn't even bother putting ornaments on this one, because I know I will return. December 5, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by ASHLAND FIR SLIM AT FIRST IT LOOKED A LITTLE SPARSE. ONCE IT IS DECORATED IT IS MUCH BETTER! GREAT FOR SMALL AREA November 30, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not so good for the money.. I was expecting for the price of this tree that the quality would be better! Branches are a hard plastic and a few of the lights were already burned out when we plugged the tree in. Very disappointed! I've ordered garland previously and that was very high quality so I expected the same.. Also upset that when I ordered the tree I received an email saying that shipping was free on all trees..however they did not honor that. Overall experience not good.. December 15, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy this tree The" meticulously hand strung" lights sound great until they start failing string by string. When we complained they just sent us more cheap lights. The hand strung lights are braided, knotted and twisted around the tree branches. You have to cut them out short piece by short piece. My husband already despises Christmas, he now has something to really complain about thanks to this lousy tree. December 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible All Around This is the first review I have ever felt strongly enough to write. As a 35 year old who loves shopping and is an interior designer, that says a lot! Only referring to the 15' tree as this is the size I ordered for a client. The tree came in damaged but usable, and those issues do happen. However, there is no amount of "fluffing" one can do to this tree to make the branches feel even remotely full... the tree core is quite visible from all angles and heights. But what is worse...and I am hoping only a part of the 15' tree...are the four STEEL CABLES running from the top of the tree, through the tree vertically, then attaching to the OUTER perimeter of the base with huge steel hooks. There is no way a tree skirt can wrap the base, and these cables are incredibly thick and visible all the way down the tree. They truly are cables, not wires. The metal cables are fully exposed from underside of last branch to the base. I had hoped that perhaps I missed a huge disclaimer on the site regarding the 15' tree...again, assuming these cables are not on the smaller trees because I cannot imagine anyone would want a tree with this horrid detail...but I did not see any information letting the consumer know about this. And all photos of the tree, even the photos sent with the instruction manual...are either taken with shorter trees or the cables have been photoshopped out. None of the photos on the website are accurate depictions of this product. Warning to all, I have seen incredibly tall trees in person through other stores without the terribly thought up assembly and poorly executed construction. Even if this tree is meant more for commercial use, no excuse. December 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible quality I have purchased many faux trees in the past and this is the cheapest quality tree I have ever seen. The needles are plastic and look very fake. Each branch has two different meddle materials used which adds the cheap quality. I am so disappointed. These trees are expensive and are not worth the price tag. December 4, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in the Ashland Fir Slim Artificial Christmas Tree. Two thirds of the branches is sculpted PE pines, and the last third is PVC up to the trunk. There is no space between the truck and the PVC needles.

Answer:
I ordered this tree and there is not a coating on them, but it is a lighter green color (ie, it is not a true dark green like the Fraser Fir). I was really bummed because otherwise it is an absolutely beautiful tree. It's still very pretty, but almost has a tinge of a blue spruce look to it (color-wise).
