Not living up to expectations I have had this item for about a month and so far very little mosquitos have been caught. Instead there are more of beetles and bugs. I wish it really attracted more mosquitos. The range is also not very far. October 16, 2012

Dynatrap ® XL Flying Insect Eliminator Out of the box, the lights on the unit did not work, but given my situation (we live near alot of natural water sources, many of which stagnate in the summer), I decided to plug it in, hang it up and try it out. Ten days later I have captured 4 mosquitos and a beetle that was still very lively when I opened the unit. Pretty disappointing, and not sure whether it was the lack of light or the whole unit, but the product came no where near my expectations. October 9, 2012

Poor Purchase Does not work at all. Only collected 1 mosquito in 4 days. Continued to get bitten by mosquitoes. Will be returning the product. September 25, 2012

Kill those mosquitos! Had my doubts about this product. We had a mosquito magnet that died, so took a chance on the Dynatrap. Good decision! Even as mosquito season eases off we "fired" it up and within a week it had "collected" thousands of mosquitos. Only drawback it also collectes moths and other night insects - oh well, they don't carry West Nile! August 29, 2012

Dynatrap Insect eliminator Not impressed. The ad stated that the Dynatrap would eliminate (or substantially reduce) mosquito's and other biting flying insects within an approximate acre area. I installed it last week, and while collects bugs, the mosquito's seem to ignore the Dynatrap and still create a problem for my wife and I. I will also note that the Dynatrap is installed within 40 feel of where we sit on the patio - at the correct height. I wish I never purchased it. August 29, 2012

This thing works! I put my Dynatrap into operation on my back porch and within hours it had collected a visible pile of bugs. I emptied out the basket after 4-5 days' use and it was filled with hundreds of moths, dozens of yellow jackets and a quantity of smaller bugs which likely included numerous mosquitoes (some of the yellow jackets were still alive and I didn't slow down to sort and count the other bugs). Works pretty well! I saw the ad for the Dynatrap in the WSJ and decided to give it a try in the backyard garden area. (The Dynatrap arrived and when I plugged it in, one of the bulbs did not work. I contacted Frontgate via email and they immediately shipped 2 replacement bulbs. Great response and service in that regard!) This unit is very bright at night and certainly catches a lot of insects; more moths and flying ants than mosquitos. It is also very quiet so there are no annoying fan noises or zapping sounds. There are still lots of mosquitos around the yard, but fewer in the immediate area where the unit is located. This unit certainly does not cover a full acre or anything close to that, but it has cut down on the flying insects in the backyard area. It is easy to clean out and does a decent job in a small area. Glad I made the purchase. August 28, 2012

Maybe Too Soon toTell As always delivery and merchandise was exceptional from Frontgate. As far as the total effectiveness of the Dynatrap XL we have only had it for 3 hot and humid weeks. It has seduced many bugs, but we still have flying pests. August 14, 2012
