Easy Wind Retractable Hose Reel

Easy to Use
Very easy to use other than the rewind on the last 6-8 feet. You do have to pull out the hose and retract again sometime 2-4 times. The hose and ease of use is still much more convenient than the previous hose and reel. We use it very night to wash off the salt from our pool that our dog splashes on the windows. Overall we are enjoying our purchase.

Saving my arms!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my easy wind retractable hose reel. I suffer from a torn rotator cuff, and using my arms to rewind my garden hose wasn't a good option. Now I can use my legs to rewind the hose, which makes the task much easier. As always, the quality of everything that I purchase from Frontgate is excellent, and I love that your catalog makes me need items that I never even knew existed. Kudos to your staff, who are always courteous and knowledgeable, and can answer questions intelligently. I recommend Frontgate to anyone that will listen.....

Retractable hose review
The first one was broken. I am convinced the "new" one was refurbished. Installing the wheels was a challenge? I do enjoy the flexibility of the device. It is not as easy as advertised. I don't know if I would recommend it to family/friends. But spring/summer usage will tell me ths does what it says.

kinda disappointed
I am getting another one to replace the one I purchased last spring (2012). The hose gets stuck and you have to pull it real hard, something inside pops and releases the hose. This cannot be good. My current one has a leak inside the housing unit somewhere. I can't take it apart to make any repairs. I am disappointed but hope this one is better.

best hose reel
I've tried other hose reels. This one allows me to pull out the hose easily (not fighting back) and easily retracts when I use the foot pedal (no problem getting it to retract). Far superior to the hose reels that spew out water in order to retract, and far superior to the spring models. It's even light enough for me to carry! Can't yet say how long it will last.

Easy wind retractable hose reel
Was excited about this concept! Rewinding can be a problem. If the hose gets off track it can get stuck along the side of the cogs and there is no entry big enough to put your hand in to get it back on track.. After many months of use the teeth on the cogs wear and break off making rewinding tedious. Frontgate should examine this design and make necessary adjustments since it is a product worthy of redevelopment. I have 3 of these units and I water everyday. Replacement is probably a yearly expense.

Best Hose Reel made
This is the 3rd hose reel of this kind that we have purchased. It is expensive, but really lasts. The other 2 are over 2 years old and are in excellent shape. This one replaces a hose reel of another type that broke after 1 year because plastic deteriorated in the sun.

is there a wheel lock for this unit so it does not roll around while you are trying to use it?

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. Unfortunately, there is not a wheel lock on this unit to prevent it from moving while in use. We apologize for any inconvenience.Answer:
As the staffer said, there is not a wheel lock. However, I pull out enough hose to use while I am standing near the unit, and then walk around where I need to water. So I have not had a problem with it rolling. I do this because I believe it could tip over fairly easy if given some good tugs from a distance. Although that has not happened to me. So far I am very happy with the purchase.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Answer:
No - there is not a wheel lock but it doesn't need one. It stays in place when you are using it.10 months ago
Answer:
No need. When in the position to pull out hose there are static feet to prevent movement.10 months ago
Answer:
No, but not to worry--the unreeling process is so smooth that the reel assembly does not move an inch--even when you are across the yard and still pulling.10 months ago
Answer:
No wheel lock. It does roll easy. I pull out the desired length of hose BEFORE I turn on the water, and do the reverse before I wind it up. Works great this way.Length of Ownership: < 1 year

Answer:
There are no wheel locks. The wheels do not make contact with the ground when in use. I know, in the photo they look like they do, but they don't. The wheels only come into play when you are pulling the reel. It does not roll around when in use.Length of Ownership: < 1 year
