Heavy Duty Umbrella
Love this umbrella! This umbrella is the sturdiest umbrella we ever had & extremely heavy, so don't install it unless you have two men to do the job as is noted in the details. I was not strong or tall enough to help my husband, so we had a neighbor help him insert the umbrella into the stand, & he had to stand on a ladder. We ordered it in the kiwi green, and it blends in beautifully with our plants & flowers. The stand alone weighs over 250 lbs. once you fill it with sand, so my husband cut a piece of 3/4" plywood and glued it to the bottom & then bolted locking casters to the the plywood before we assembled it. We wanted to be able to move the umbrella between two different areas, which we can do now with ease. Too bad this wasn't an option to buy with the umbrella, because otherwise, once you fill it you won't be able to move it.

Second one was the charm
We had some difficulty with the first one. Where the upper arm joins the main frame, the instruction skipped to mention that we needed to adjust the screws first to make it fit loosely. It took some sweating and vain efforts in the hot weather and we finally figured it out. After installation, the umbrella looked beautiful but short minutes later, we found the arm was swinging when the wind blew. No matter how hard we tightened the bottom, it won't stay put. Also, the umbrella won't retract all the way down. FG's CS sent the replacement right away. They do have a wonderful CS. We installed the second one in a breeze (it isn't difficult at all once you know what to do) and it works perfect. Such a good looking umbrella too. Even with the defective first one, I would do it again to have this nice big umbrella in my backyard.

Very disappointed
I had previously purchased two of these umbrellas about 5 years ago. I was very pleased to the quality and functionality of these items. Due to age and extreme heat one of the canopies dry rotted. After being so pleased before i quickly ordered another and looked forward to the new umbrella. Unfortunately the design of the mechanism to open and close the umbrella has drastically changed. The crank interchanges into both slots which does not work well and easily falls out of the holder. So disappointed. Cannot recommend.

Very Happy
We had absolutely no problem assembling this umbrella. From opening the box to sitting under the shade of the umbrella was about 20 minutes. We are very happy with every aspect of this product. The operation is smooth and uncomplicated and the look is very classy.

Great Umbrella!
I ordered this umbrella in Gingko, and it looks great by our pool. It shipped super fast, and was easy to set up. It is very substantial and made well. The quality of it is just fabulous!

Great umbrella
The 11 foot patior umbrella is just what we needed for our outdoor deck that gets intense Georgia sun all summer. It arrived on time and was very easy to set up. The aluminum support structure is a neat design and thus far has performed well in moderate wind gusts. It came with a cover for weather protection when is it is folded, however there were no instructions on how to attach it. The tent type rods need to be screwed together to make a pole for lifting the cover to the top of the frame. All in all a great product.

AWESOME UMBRELLA
We love our bright green side mount umbrella. It not only looks great, adds a punch of color to our lanai, but the mechanics are so easy to use. Great purchase!!

wonderful
I bought this umbrella for some shade on our dock on the lake. It is perfect, and given the heavy base,we are not worried that it will be knocked down by wind or waves. The cover is so easy to use,only one person can easily close and cover the umbrella for the night. I may need to get another for our primary home too.

Excellent performing umbrella
We live on a view lot where we enjoy sitting on the patio watching the sunset every evening. The Cantilever Umbrella has made this possible with it's large coverage area and ease of operation in moving it from one area to the other. It blends in well with our patio furniture and we have received lots of compliments on it from our family and neighbors. One of the smartest purchases we have ever made!!!!

A Great Patio Umbrella
This umbrella is a truly quality product. Assembly was a snap, and I disagree with other reviews that suggested insufficient instructions. It rotates easily by hand and locks positively into place with a screw collar that my wife had no problem using. It folds out and tilts very easily with a hand crank mechanism that has a very robust feel to it.. The 11 ft. diameter provides excellent shade for our 6-place rectangular table and chair set, particularly since it can be adjusted so easily as the sun moves.. The cover works well, and I was able to figure how to use it, even though no instructions were included (they would have helped).

I just wished I could have spoken to someone who knew alittle more about Sunbrella before I placed the order, I have spent a lot of money on my backyard with yall, and now my 2 umbrellas do not match!! I have a Vanilla (white) and the Brick orange, I also have the round couch (also purchased from yall) with orange cushions! Got too much goin on with different oranges and now white thrown in the mix!!!!

Terrific
It's definitely a two person job and you need to know exactly where you want it because it's so heavy you will not be moving it after putting it together. However, it is attractive and efficient. We are happy with our purchase.

good but hard to assemble
really enjoy how this umbrella looks and covers a large area but putting the long heavy arm together with the short base was VERY hard for 2 relatively average size and strong women. It took a man over 6 feet to help realign the poles and set them. The small and inefficient notch that needs to be lined up and set is in need of some redesigning for future models. I am happy with the umbrella but don't think about purchasing it unless you have some big, tall and strong help

Patio Umbrella
I'm quite happy with this umbrella. It operates very smoothly, gives wonderful coverage, and is very attractive. It was a little difficult for my daughter and me to assemble, due to it's weight and top-heaviness. I would have preferred one that tilted side-to-side, as well as one with a foot release for swiveling, but this umbrella's price was half of those with the features described. Saving that much definitely makes up for not having them. I was also please that a cover was included in the price. All in all, I would purchase it again!

Great Purchase
Great looking umbrella. It was easy to assemble and does a really good job of blocking out the harsh sun. Easy to open and retract. We've had this umbrella for a few weeks and it seems to hold up against the wind. Definitely would recommend this purchase.

Terrific
I now have two of these umbrellas on my front patio and I feel like I live in a resort, which is wonderful besides the fact that they shade the area - very important in Arizona.
The only down side is that I have to watch for wind surges because they will blow over despite 250 pounds of sand and rock in the base.

11' European side mount umbrella
Overall this is a very well made product. We are very pleased with its quality and construction. We purchased this umbrella and cover to put at the end of our dock at our lake house. Assembly was straightforward although the final assembly really does require two people. My only product improvement comment for the manufacturer would be to add a mechanism towards the base to fix the umbrella in place after it is rotated to the desired location. It isn't possible to hand-tighten the base enough to keep the whole assembly from rotating in even a mild wind. We ended up connecting the umbrella to our boat lift with a small string to keep it from rotating in the wind.

Best Shade Replacement
Having survived the devastating tornados on April 27 with the lost of four, 105 year old oaks, my backyard is now in full sun all day. These umbrellas are GREAT. I can move the shade where we need it in the yard. They are also beautiful in the yard. I love the side-mount feature. Friends all want one too. GREAT PRODUCT. Thanks Frontgate.

11' Slide-mount Umbrella
I was overly impressed by the sturdiness of this item and its construction. I viewed similar Umbrella's at three major retailers and none came close to the quality of the item I purchased at Frontgate. This Umbrella will be used in an outdoor setting within a lanai area and now complements and covers a pleasant sitting area. I put off buying this umbrella because of the

I got the brick color , and it is the highlight of
the deck around my pool. You can swing it
over the lounge chairs as well as

My Thoughts on Umbrella
The umbrella arrived promptly and in great condition. I have another one (different brand) and was looking forward to this product arriving. Frontgate products are always of the highest quality.
The umbrella, however, looks great and does provide wonderful shade. It is very difficult to open. In order to insert the supplied wrench (to open unit), two holes in shaft of umbrella must line up. They do not. The wrench keeps falling out.
I also find the unit time consuming. If you want to open the unit and have it angled to provide shade from the side, you must first open all the way, then move the wrench to another location and slide the shaft of umbrella down.

Awesome Umbrella
I love being outside all day but have to be careful in the sun. I purchased two of these umbrellas and love them. They are big, easy to open and close and I love that I can move the canopy 360 degrees as the sun moves I can stay covered!! I may get another one to put over the spa at the pool.

You may need a ladder.First, close the umbrella canopy and move it as close as possible to the tubular arm.
Place the cover on top of the umbrella canopy (the zipper should close downward and the ties should be at the bottom)..
Move the cover down, while enclosing the umbrella and the tubular arm, close the zipper.
Tie the ties around the bottom of the cover. Click on picture below to see the cover on the umbrella.

A little late for this... but you need to decide first which way you want to block the sun before you place the umbrella and fill it up with the 200 lbs of sand. The umbrella only tilts one way and that is with the back to the tubular base.Extend the umbrella and open the canopy like you normally do (placing the crank handle in Socket A (upper hole), extending all the way and then in Socket B (lower hole), opening the canopy all the way.
Then to tilt it, go back to Socket A (upper hole) and using the crank handle move it counter-clockwise until you achieve the desired tilt.
Click on "Overview" (Umbrella, website) to see last sentence "View simple...", instruction manual, page 4 for complete instructions.
