The picture looks like it is burning natural gas, and looks to be filled with some fireproof media. What are the details for this arrangement?

Also, what gauge is the metal for the bowl, and the base?

Thanks,

Thank you for your patience while we contacted the vendor to obtain an answer to your question regarding this item. We were able to confirm that both the bowl and base of this firebowl are made from 1/4" steel. While this item is made to burn wood or charcoal, it can support a natural gas conversion. Upgrade kits can be purchased separately by calling Steven Stegall at 805.237.9188.

What is the fuel source?

It does not appear from this picture that it is propane or natural gas, if it is propane, where does the propane tank fit; also what is the BTU output?

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this item. This firebowl is suitable for wood, propane or natural gas and ships ready-to-fit for clean-burning propane or natural gas. Upgrade kits can be purchased separately by calling Steven 805.237.9188. If converting to propane use, unfortunately as firebowls do get hot when in use and could overheat the tank, it is not able nor recommended to store a propane tank in the base of the item due to the risk of explosion. The BTU rating for this item will vary depending on the combustible medium being used.

Am I missing something here?

All the pictures for the fire bowls show them with fire rocks which means there is a gas of some sort (propane or natural gas), right? And then in the Q&A area it says it is not safe to use these bowls with tanks of any kind because the bowls get too hot. What am I missing?
