Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I received this as a gift this month and think it's well worth the money. I live in hot, humid South Florida and have the perfect patio for laying out... But it's just too hot to ever do so for more than 10 minutes before melting. I'm a single gal who isn't what I'd consider handy and had no problem putting this together by myself in my family room. I recall one section on the assembly instructions being vague but by looking at the diagram I figured it out with no issue. All I needed was a Phillips head screwdriver. The mist is strong but fine, the fan oscillates and it worked exactly as expected. I was able to lay-out on my deck for quite awhile in 90 degree/90 percent humidity weather for the first time in years. I think this would be especially good for those up north who BBQ in their backyards when there's no breeze and need a reprieve. As someone who hangs pictures on my wall using the heel of a shoe to put in nails, I had no problems putting this together. The fan is mostly plastic so I won't be leaving it outside when not in use but it's light enough to move in and out of my storage area as needed. I say 'go for it.'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping cool This is a great fan, takes some extra thumbs to put together but overall a great purchase. The misting element is wonderful on those hot muggy Georgia days and helps to keep you cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! The misting fan was easy to put together and was a big hit at our family reunion. It was used for two days straight and was a life saver with our guest. We have had it for less then a month but it has all ready paid for itself in my mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mister fan Remarkably easy to construct. Printed instructions could have been easier to follow however, with more close-up diagrams of certain steps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works excellent We bought this to mainly address a major mosquito problem around our hot tub.It keeps them completely away, with the added benefit of blowing a cool misty breeze across our face..Nice little benefit to have when it's 105 out down here in Texas, and we're trying to cool off in the hot tub @ 90 degrees. Also comes in handy when I'm grilling...lowers the temp to tolerable instead of stifling

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm all misty This fan is great with or without the mist. It is the perfect fan for a hot day when you have children. The children don't get wet unless they stand directly in front of the fan for a long time. The cool mist on the skin is refreshing. Be warned that the area within the fans oscillating range will get wet over time.

Can this fan be left outside in a thunderstorm or if it is lightning - not just raining?

Asked by: hally1
It's not meant to be left out in the weather. The fan has some components that will shield it from its own mist, but rain would definitely be able to enter the motor housing.

iS THERE SOME WAY TO MOUNT THIS OUTDOORS ON A ROUND POST?

I WOULD NEED 4 OF THEM TO INSTALL INSIDE THE CORNERS OF A NEW TIKI HUT AND WOULD NOT USE THE MISTING FEATURE, SO NO HOSE INVOLVED..
Asked by: plr5
Anything is possible. You would have to take the base (stand) off, run the pole up your post, then attach it with metal "C" clamps and screws. Just be sure to make sure you leave the fan part above the post so it can turn freely

What assembly does it require?

What type of power outlet? Do I need to call in a certified electrician? Do I need a handyman for the assembly?
Asked by: OutdoorQ
Thank you for your interest in the Frontgate Misting Fan. This fan can be plugged into any outdoor outlet. This would not require a professional to assemble.
