It’s sunny and 72 degrees, and on the San Francisco Bay, the world’s fastest yachts are chasing the oldest trophy in international sport. It’s the 34th America’s Cup, being contested in America for the first time since 1995. And, for the first time, Frontgate has outfitted a luxury viewing suite – on the deck of CLUB72, the official hospitality lounge of the America’s Cup.
Designers Crista Winteringham and Colleen Brand of San Francisco-based Fresh Spaces needed products for their deck design that corresponded with the club’s modern feel. Plus, they had to handle elements ranging from morning fog to baking sun to a possible spilled drink. “Frontgate was a great fit,” Winteringham said. “We love how their furniture collections adjust to seasonal needs.”
They chose contemporary Riviera modular seating, pairing it with Metropolitan deep seating and Belize swivel chairs, which help spectators toggle between conversations and race watching. But all in white? Yep. Weather-resistant fibers and marine-grade, synthetic-leather upholstery put the mind at ease.
Frontgate is also seen in other America’s Cup suites. Oracle Innovation Lounge used our Gramercy collection for its private club, and The Napa Valley Wine Lounge chose versatile Café furniture and Palermo bars and barstools.
If you can’t get to the City by the Bay before racing ends – as early as September 14, enjoy a virtual look at the CLUB72 deck space here.
