In anticipation of this weekend’s Westminster Dog Show, we thought you might like to get to know some of our winningest pooches. We think they’re all quite the show dogs.
As her name might suggest, Pomme is the apple of her mother’s eye. Pomme is a kind, caring and playful Coton de Tulear, who is also calm…unless the doorbell rings. And, at eight years old, she’s well traveled, having most recently been included on a grand tour of Europe. Lucky dog!
Boxer’s are ranked No. 7 on the American Kennel Club’s list of top breeds in the USA and Peanut is part of the reason why. Pictured here at 4 months old, this full-bred Boxer is quite the talker, following her mom around the house after work, telling her about the day. Plus, she loves to sing along when her dad plays the trumpet. What a talent!
Barley is an energetic 13-month-old Irish Water Spaniel, one of the oldest and largest of the spaniels. She’s a bit of a clown who’s quite attached to a frog squeak toy. This winter has been loads of fun for Barley, as she loves to play in the snow, diving headlong into any powdery bank.
With a name that mean “friend” in Sioux, Kola truly is her mom’s best gal. This curious Standard Collie is now 8 month old (just 4 mos. in the picture), Kola is tops in her class at Obedience School and set the record for doggy pushups – completing 11 in one minute.
“I imagine he thinks he’s human,” surmises the owner of George, the loveable, 3-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd who became our “family dog” in the 2013 catalogs. This Aussie’s latest human pet trick is using his paw to operate the window controls in the car (he likes it down). Typical of his breed, George loves to work and loves being star of the show, so he’s the perfect dog model.
We love our Frontgate dog models and hope you do, too. Look forward to more Top Dogs in 2014!
