Lightweight Inflatable EZ Bed 4.2 5 31 31
EZ Peaszy Bed We purchased this inflatable bed based on a review in The Wall Street Journal that named it the best of the choices (2014). Very easy to inflate and stayed inflated the entire night (we purchased the model with continuous inflation which surprisingly does not make a sound as compared to the actual inflating and deflating of the bed). We had to search for the instructions on how to inflate and operate the bed. They were attached to the power cord behind a package labelled patches - they should be far more prominent. Definitely need a themopedic pad, feather bed or something on top of the mattress before the sheets as the plastic is slippery and cold. We used our regular California deep pocket sheets over yoga mats anda featherbed for the initial sleep. We'll get a thermopedic pad for sure. EZ bed is a good solution for an extra bed, easy to use, but bulky to store due to the size of the case. August 18, 2014
Perfect Inflatable Bed My husband and I bought this bed in leu of a sleeper sofa for our guests. My husband is 6'7"/210lbs and the moment we got it he bounced and rolled around to test the sturdiness of the legs. There were no concerns at all. Beyond the sturdiness, we tested all the different settings overnight and they worked great. I love how easy it is to inflate and deflate. I will definitely recommend this to everyone! April 25, 2014
Loved the bed! I plugged it in and it blew up without any problem. I had guests use it all weekend and they loved it. Easy and lightweight, easy to manuever and simple to use. I have guests coming to my lakehouse for the next few weekends and I am so happy to have an extra place to put them. July 18, 2014
Works as advertised! The bed inflates and deflates just like in the video - all worked great first time. No issues so far, but only time will tell how well the mattress lasts. The fear of purchasing any air mattress is the typically short life before leakage due to seam or valve failure. But the air bag seems well made of suitably thick material. And the firmness adjustments work well as well as the keep inflated pump. The extra price for the lightweight aluminum frame is worth it for a 70 year old that doesn't have the strength to lift in and out of a car when traveling. October 19, 2013
EZ Bed let me down When I received the bed inflated it to see if it worked. Went up and down as advertised, One week later had guest and inflated bed. It had a hole in the bottom of mattress. Very disappointed. Had to find other accomadations for guest. July 8, 2014
Great alternative to a pull-out couch My husband and I slept on this bed for 5 days recently while our bedroom was being painted. The first 2 days we did not use a memory foam mattress topper and while it was pretty comfortable, it still felt like sleeping on an air mattress. Our daughter lent us her memory foam topper, and it made all the difference!! With the topper, it felt just like a regular bed and was extremely comfortable! I just purchased an inexpensive memory foam mattress topper to use with it. It is really fascinating to watch the bed unfold, and it is wonderfully convenient that it is all self-contained. We highly recommend it as an alternative to a pull-out couch for occasional use. May 30, 2014
Love it so far! I hope this product lasts because its a great idea! Love the easy set up & compact design. It weighs almost nothing & although that's a plus the durability concerns me a little. 4 starts for that reason. Time will tell. May 24, 2014
Loved this BED I decided on this bed mainly because of the past reviews about it being light and easy to use. I gave it to my out-of-town daughter as a housewarming gift for her 2 bedroom house. Really so that I would have a bed when I - or anyone else - visited her. And with her having her first baby- I'd be there often. I must say the reviews were very true. The bed was easy to inflate and just as easy to deflate, the storage zip bag is also very easy with large zippers and wheels. The ability to select your firmness worked well. The overall design was very impressive. I have told many people how wonderful this bed is. March 19, 2014

I've owned the original heavyweight EZ bed for about 10 years. It has been trouble-free, comfortable, and dependable. But it is quite heavy, and I'd like a lighter one. However, a review suggests that the original EZ Essential mattress material and construction is not the same as used on the Lightweight model. Is this correct, or do they both use the same mattress?

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The material used for the mattress on the Lightweight Inflatable EZ Bed is different from the mattress on the Essential EZ Bed.

The Essential EZ Bed mattress is made from PVC, where as the Lightweight EZ Bed mattress is made from polyester laminated with TPU.

Here are some overall differences between the Lightweight and Essential EZ Beds:

*The weight is about 35% lighter for Queen and 30% lighter for Twin.
*The Lightweight EZ Bed has more puncture resistance
*The Lightweight EZ Bed has a softer touch: more fabric like than PVC material on the Essential EZ Bed

Constant pressure clarification

Re: Constant Pressure feature --

You answered a previous question by saying that the Lightweight EZ bed did not have the constant pressure feature. Yet the catalog description states that "..this guest bed has a 9" thick mattress and a dual-phase, perpetual inflation system that maintains desired firmness during the night by automatically (and quietly) pumping air into the bed."

I'm puzzled. Does or does not the Lightweight EZ bed have the constant pressure feature?

I have the regular Inflatable EZ Bed in king size and my friends who have slept in it, and I, love it :) I want to get another one and now that you have a lightweight version, I'd want one in the same size as the one I already own. Thanks.
