Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it!! Love it love it. I would have given it four stars but the top layer is not a separate entity. It looks like it in the picture but it is not. The feathers shift but after shaking it vigorously when I change the sheets it is nice and soft for a few days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Featherbed sticks The featherbed is comfortable. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the feathers stick through the padding and poke me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Down Top Featherbed It is very full and soft, however, the feathers do poke out and stick you:(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from CAUTION: Like sleeping on a cloud with some 'pins' The Featherbed Down Top is exactly as I imagined - like sleeping on a soft, fluffy cloud, until... I woke up with paper-cut like injuries - and I realized that the sharp end of the down feathers would randomly poke out of the sheets - and felt like needles sticking into you. So as I was sleeping the first night - I wasn't aware of this and apparently when I was moving in my sleep, the feather 'pins' would slash my body, like thin paper-cuts. I don't know how to remedy this, as I don't want to return the Down Featherbed Top - very comfy... so I guess I will have to buy yet ANOTHER bed top to lay on top of the down top. Sigh.

Does the featherbed make your bed hot when sleeping?

Asked by: Sallyscratcher
I've used featherbeds for decades, even living in AZ, and never found them to be hot or cause sweating. Featherbeds are much more comfy and cool vs. memory foam. Plus, featherbeds don't off-gas the overwhelming awful chemicals from memoryfoam, which can take many months to dissipate. Go with a featherbed! Frontgate's ultraclean down, and the dual-chamber design, is why I'm buying Featherbed #144899 today! Can't wait to get it! I will submit a review about it, too.

Is the featherbed dry clean only? Do fitted sheets fit over the featherbed?

Asked by: comfysleeping
Yes, most fitted sheets for deep mattresses fit over the featherbeds. FEATHERBED CARE & CLEANING: I recommend a featherbed cover with a high thread count and tight weave, to keep it clean. I use an anti-dustmite polyurethane-backed mattress cover, made like a fitted sheet, that goes over the featherbed & mattress. The fitted sheet goes on top of that. Nothing gets through polyurethane, even liquid, so the featherbed doesn't get dirty. The polyurethane-backed mattress cover is machine wash/dry. It doesn't diminish the featherbed feel, because the polyurethane is super thin, bonded to a thin cotton terrycloth top. To kill dustmites & freshen, put the featherbed outside in the sun, or, run it on a high-heat dryer cycle (I do this with my pillows). Spot clean stains. I use Febreeze Anti-Microbial spray on both sides of the featherbed, when I wash the sheets. Give it a good shake to refluff and rotate it for more even wear. Using these techniques, I haven't had to launder a featherbed. If I did, I would wash & dry it in commercial machines. I would not subject it to dry-cleaning chemicals. Check the label for manufacturer's cleaning instructions. Hope that helps!
