Oster Versa Pro Blender 5 5 1 1
My new Oster Versa My husband and I researched several options for blenders before purchasing our nw Oster Versa Pro. I am very pleased with with function of the blender after making several smoothies and soups, and one cheesecake. Lumpy and stringy fruits and vegetables are completely blended. Both the top and bottom are easy to clean. It more than meets my expectations. January 1, 2013

"Blend" a soup or actually "make" a warm/hot soup due to centrifugal force right there in the pitcher? How does it perform w/ ice? How well does it blend nuts, seeds, grains, and coffee beans? Do you have any comparison data to top 3 competitors with 2, 3, and 3.5 HP motors? What is the length of the blades? What country is this Oster product made in? Oster does sell replacement pitchers. Is there one that is glass or stainless steel and functional with this blender? How/where can I order that--model name / #, and what is the pitcher price? Is it safe to use a glass pitcher in a high-speed (2 HP or more) blender? You may need to contact the product mgr to get some of these answers. THX for your time. In addition to helping me make a decision/purchase, I will be sharing your answers w/ friends. email is best way to reach me

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The Oster Versa Pro will not heat the soup, but you can put hot liquids in and blend them. The blender works well blending ice as well as nuts, seeds, grains, and coffee beans. The Versa Pro is made in China. Oster does not have a metal or glass jar for the Versa. Glass is not common to use in performance blending. Plastic is more impact resistant than glass, which means it is harder to break. Plastic is lighter weight, as well.
A glass pitcher could be used in a high speed blender (however, Oster does not make one for this blender) as long you use the right grade of glass that can handle the large temperature changes and supports permanently holding the agitator or cutting blades.
