Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer 4.4 5 510 541
Great clock - thermometer is iffy This clock looks beautiful on the back of my chimney on our deck. It sits in direct sunlight so I think that throws the thermometer off a little bit. We use it mainly for telling time so it doesn't bother us. I found this clock in the catalog for $20 less than online price - Frontgage honored the price difference. Came quickly. July 28, 2015
Nicest outdoor clock ever! I have never written a product review before, but am doing this wiithout reluctance! For my purposes and where I hung this on my garden wall, it is not only beautiful...but with the sharp clean display, it is easy to read from the yard or kitchen nook window. After my last outdoor clock broke (& the inside vinyl decal started to unpeal), I decided it was time to stop wasting money every couple years on cheap replacements and began a search for something both affordable and higher quality. I found it! July 20, 2015
Great Outdoor Clock The Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer is high quality, easy to read, and great value. Highly recommended. July 15, 2015
Beautiful Clock This is a perfect accent piece to our patio/pool area! July 13, 2015
Looks great inside too! We bought this to replace a 10-year-old Frontgage Outdoor Clock that was finally showing its age (a testimony to its great quality too). When this new one arrived, I was amazed at how beautiful it is and chose to hang it inside in my family room. I'll probably purchase another to hang outside -- this clock is a great purchase and I suspect I will have it a long time! Well worth the value. July 10, 2015
OXFORD OUTDOOR CLOCK WITH THERMOMETER This is my second Oxford clock - I purchased it for the front of the house. I have had my old one for more than a year now and it still looks great even though it is mounted outside (under the eaves). July 8, 2015
Love this clock! We love that we can finally see what time it is while we are in the pool or on the other side of our yard. This clock has a nice finish and having temperature and humidity gauges is a plus. July 3, 2015
Great Clock Big and beautiful, works great outside. June 29, 2015

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The thermometer can be adjusted by gently rotating the back of the thermometer movement (on the back of the clock) slowly in either direction until the correct temperature is shown on the dial.

Answer:
AND NEVER WILL! One can adjust it by turning the black disc on the back, but the thermometer is affected by the temperature of the wall, etc., and it is just a rudimentary thermometer at best. It's "OK", but more for trends than cooking! :)

Answer:
Both the temperature and humidity gauges on the Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer can be adjuested by gently rotating the back of the hygrometer movement on the back of the unit slowly in either direction until the correct humidity/temperature is shown on the dial. If you have recently moved the clock to a new location, it may take several hours for it to correctly adjust.

Answer:
On the back of the clock, both the thermometer and hygrometer come through to a small black disc, about the size of a spice jar lid. One can rotate these to "set" the respective readings. Beware, however...these are NOT EVER going to be particularly accurate...just consider them a "trend".

I bought the clock that is similar to this but has numbers. I cannot locate it anymore on the website nor can I find my old email confirmation that I ordered it. Anyway, how long should the batteries last? We've only had it for a few months, less than 5 months, and I've already replaced the batteries twice. I just changed them two weeks ago and today the clock was dead again.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in the Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer. The batteries should be changed at least annually, but the battery life depends on the type of batteries that are used. We recommend using lithium batteries, especially in cold weather.

Answer:
Battery life - 4 to 6 weeks MAX! Cheap movement, BIG hands, LITTLE battery.

Although I haven't done this, with a little ingenuity, a trip to Fry's, Best Buy, or the like, one COULD add a D-cell or cells in a battery tray, either squeezing the supply leads at the ends of an installed AA battery or soldering them to the battery clips themselves. The clock will weigh a pound or so more, but THAT should last 6 months or MORE!

Answer:
Not really! You CAN adjust the temperature by twisting the thermometer housing on the back. However, the thermometer WILL be influenced by sun, wind, and the "heat-sink" effect of the material (stucco, brick, etc.) behind the clock itself.

Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. If the clock is placed in a more shaded area of the home and not in the direct sunlight it should withstand the heat. While the thermometer only reads up to 110 degrees, the material of the clock will withstand up to 150 degrees heat.

When we removed from box it was 60 degrees and 38% Rh. It has been outside for over 3 hours and hasn't moved. My other outside thermometer says it is 78 degrees. Do I need to do something to back go clock? I did add a battery so the clock works. HELP please. It just arrived today.
