Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer 4.4 5 396 421
Oxford Clocok Hopefully this one will work better than the last one I purchased from Frontgage. the last one never keep proper time and it was radio contolled. this one is much larger than the other which is nice. looks good on the wall and so far has kept good time. will see how it holds up to the outdoors, only have had it for a few weeks. January 11, 2013
Great looking B U T ... clock looks AWESOME, it is a great size and it looks like and EXPENSIVE clock...However, the minute hand actually gets caught on the "hand" on the humidity dial and stops the clock!! At first we thought the battery kept dying, then we realized what the problem was. Frustrating to constantly have to fix the time. May no longer be a problem now that the weather and humidity have dropped! November 9, 2012
Great time keeper The Oxford Outdoor Clock is quite beautiful and a very nice addition to my outdoor patio. Plus, it keeps accurate time and temperature (and probably humidity as well). March 26, 2013
Beautiful Clock We are very pleased with our purchase. The clock is high quality and looks beautiful over our outdoor fireplace. I would recommend it to anyone. Easy to read as well. March 25, 2013
Quality problem The clock et al appear to be well built of good material. The problem is that obviously no quality control exists. As received the hands of the clock were somewhat bent around each other so that they could not move to tell time. It was obvious. I had to figure out how to dismantle the clock to get to the hands. Then bend them free to move. After reassembly it appears to be functioning well. We do like the overall design. August 5, 2012
classy The clock is simple and elegant on our enclosed porch. We truly enjoy having it and seeing the time and temperature together. Just add a battery. Easy and beautiful. March 23, 2013
amazing clock Everyone stops and stares and asks where did I find such a beautiful clock - a real eye stopper - functional as well as beautiful April 2, 2013
Great Clock Beautiful clock. Looks very expensive and works well. April 19, 2013
great purchase A great addition to our patio. Looks smart and is accurate! April 16, 2013
Great Outdoor clock The face of the first one started to peel after a year. The replacement has been going strong for over two years now and that's in the desert! The temp and humid dials are the reason that I purchased it. This one has a face upgrade that looks even better, so I bought another one! January 30, 2013
Bad Timekeeper The Oxford outdoor clock we purchased from Frontgate has given us nothing but trouble. While it looks attractive, it has stopped working several times in the first two weeks. I have had to dismantle it twice and try to straighten out the hands because they keep sticking on each other and on the temperature and humidity hands. Overall we are very disappointed with this product. October 22, 2012
Beautiful Classic Outdoor Clock Love this elegant clock on our lanai. It goes well with our outdoor furniture and is easy to read from any distance in the pool area. The quality is well worth the price for this Frontgate item. It is durable and designed well with a sealed area for the batteries and settings. I would highly recommend this clock to my friends. December 21, 2012
Time tested The outdoor clock is an elegant piece as we complete our outdoor kitchen April 10, 2013
best purchase ever I received this clock in the mail, I LOVE IT !!!, it's the prettiest clock i've owned for an outdoor clock, It's more then I expected from the picture. I'm so happy I ordered it. It's a little bigger than I expected but I can see the hands from afar and the beauty of it , it was worth it. January 17, 2013
Very Nice We were very happy with the clock when we received it. It looks just as good as the picture in the book. April 1, 2013
attractive, quiet clock The clock is accurate, quiet and attractive. Size is large but was well described in catalog. April 3, 2013
Decorative and Useful The size and price was right for this outdoor clock and most appealing was the temperature and humidity dials. It seems to be very accurate so far. I hope it can withstand the cold, snow and rain of fall and winter. Only time will tell, but I trust FrontGate to be great about a return if there is a problem after the winter season. Easy to hang. Looks wonderful. October 22, 2012
outdoor clock We had purchased several years ago an outdoor clock from Frontgate that was not glass enclosed and it was constantly breaking down. This time we decided to go with a glass enclosed and so far this is running well and looks great. The thermometer part is a bit useless since we are often over 100 degrees but still overall a nice looking addition to our pool decor. Just hope that it works a long time. July 14, 2012
clock Very pleased with the purchase, used coupon earned with purchase on cyber monday. Love my santa that was bought that night - thanks so much March 14, 2013
Outdoor Clock I am very happy with this clock. It is working perfectly and looks lovely on our outside lanai. Even though it looks heavy and substantial it was quite light and easy to hang. . . February 28, 2013
Love This Clock This is one classy clock! Our last outdoor clock was destroyed in a high wind storm, and this replacement improves on the last one. It is sturdy and ready to withstand Houston heat-- under our breezeway. Best of all, it is easy to read from anywhere around the pool. The bronze finish suits our Austin-stone exterior perfectly! And, we'll take this one down when the wind gets high.... August 2, 2012
Oxford Outdoor Clock I hope this is a better quality than the one it is replacing. It looks beautiful and seems to operate seemlessly. I'm impressed with this clock however the last one had a meltdown after 15 months. Frontgate was wonderful about a replacement. January 23, 2013
Pool Clock Looks Great Looks exactly like photo, we just hung it today and everything seems to work great! Very happy with the look. March 16, 2013
An excellent buy We were impressed with the quality of the clock. Beautiful out by our pool. March 22, 2013
beautiful We love our clock-very nice quality for the price! March 28, 2013
Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer Part of the reason I bought this was because the reviews said it was accurate. I bought one for myself and one for my son. So far, the thermometer has not been accurate, despite my attempts to adjust it. I haven't heard from my son yet about the accuracy of his. The clock looks wonderful, but the accuracy is not what I had hoped for. October 23, 2012
great item this clock is great looking and so far keeps accurate time.We love it. March 22, 2013
Lovely Clock Beautiful, functional, practical. Great job, Frontgate. P.S. Please consider using recyclable bubble wrap for packaging with this and all items. Styrofoam is a HUGE MESS and has to be thrown in the dump. Thanks. January 30, 2013
Like it, but... I love the looks of this clock and it is exactly what I have been looking for. Easy to read from the pool, but hard to tell what the hour is because the hour hand is offset. If it is 12:00 the hour hand is where it should be if it is 12:30. January 13, 2013
BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR CLOCK Our new Oxford Outdoor Clock has not only enhanced the beauty of our pool area, but works quite well. The time is always accurate and it's interesting to be able to see amount of humidity, etc., etc. We have found Frontgate to offer only the highest quality of items and are never disappointed with the item or the excellent customer service! Answer:
It does not rust.. The Copper color just wears out after a year or so. The Facia separates from the unit, and the thermometer, and the hygrometer stopped working after one year.

Answer:
It is sealed pretty well. The only place it could rust would be where the hands come together and/or are connected to the mechanism., and that would only happen over a long period of time. I had many years from a clock similar to this before it got any rust.

Answer:
I would assume it to be rust resistant since it appears to be plastic made to look like copper. I don't know how it would hold up if exposed to direct rain, but I think it would be okay on a covered porch like ours.

Answer:
No, it is not rust-proof.

This type of material is generally quite susceptible to rusting in damp or humid climates.

Rust will quickly deverlope if this clock is scratched or chipped in any manner.

The inside bottom lip is the first place that you should expect rust to start developing if water can get behind your clock.

Rust can be slowed by annual respraying of a clear coat spray paint such as Rustoleum (either gloss or satin). With annual respraying, the closck should last five or more years.

Can't access it, but it is definitely not paper - it appears to be hard plastic. We've had ours hanging outside on a semi-covered porch for the past month and it's working great (in spite of all the rain we've been getting)!

After drilling the hole in the masonry we inserted a screw anchor for stability and strength. The clock is very secure and designed to sit on the screw and after pulling down on the clock a bit it locks into place.

How is the time set?

I currently have an outdoor clock like this that I would like to replace. It has a feature that allows it to "self-set" the time via radio frequency. How is the time set on this clock?

Answer:
It could be because of the large size of the clock. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as great for inside as outside.
I would just make sure you have a good size wall to hang it on so it doesn't overwelm the wall or anything else displayed on the same wall.
