Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer 4.4 5 436 462
Looks Terrific We purchased this clock for outdoor installation by our swimming pool. When my significant other took a look after it arrived, it wound up over our bar, indoors. "Too nice to put outside". April 15, 2013
Great Outdoor clock The face of the first one started to peel after a year. The replacement has been going strong for over two years now and that's in the desert! The temp and humid dials are the reason that I purchased it. This one has a face upgrade that looks even better, so I bought another one! January 30, 2013
Fits perfectly We had been looking to upgrade our outdoor clock-thermometer for some time and ordered the "Oxford Outdoor" out of the catalog sight unseen. We are very pleased with what arrived at our door , in fact after seeing how perfectly it fit in on our patio we ordered another for our neighbor to which we owed a favor .... they love it as well ! October 3, 2012
best purchase ever I received this clock in the mail, I LOVE IT !!!, it's the prettiest clock i've owned for an outdoor clock, It's more then I expected from the picture. I'm so happy I ordered it. It's a little bigger than I expected but I can see the hands from afar and the beauty of it , it was worth it. January 17, 2013
Love this clock We've been looking for an outside clock for quite a while that had a glass face. The winds in Las Vegas can get pretty strong and the hands on the outside clocks just couldn't survive. This one has been great! March 31, 2013
WOW Very surprised at how beautiful this is. Very large and well made. Can't wait to put it outside this spring. I have been looking for years for a nice clock to put outside that I can read from across the yard and this is the one. March 18, 2013
Wonderful outdoor clock This clock is wonderful, even better than we'd hoped it would be. The numbers and readouts can be seem from anywhere in our backyard pool/patio area. So glad we got it !!! April 22, 2013
OUT DOOR CLOCK JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR TO PUT ON MY DECK.. IT HAS THE TIME, HUMIDITY AND TEMPERTURE.. THE FINISH IS BEAUTIFUL AND IS WELL CONTRUCTED FOR OUTDOOR USE.. April 29, 2013
Great Clock This clock is truly a beautiful piece of art. I bought it to put outside but it is so gorgeous I am thinking of just keeping it in the house; or putting it outside once in awhile when weather is perfect. Frontgate products are always top quality! February 28, 2013
Great outdoor clock This clock was hung outdoors, but not subject to weather (other than humidity). The size (larger than expected) allows us to see the readings from all over the courtyard. April 19, 2013
PERFECT! Words can't describe how much I love this clock! It is very rich looking, not too heavy, and easy to hang. Yes, it's big ... but, that's the beauty of it. With the crisp white face, it's easy to read all dials from a distance. We put it on an outdoor brick wall on our patio, and the copper looks amazing against the brick. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! July 8, 2012
Quality and Accuracy Clock with temperature and humidity gauges are accurate and exterior finish has withstood our ocean salt climate well. Large diameter face makes reading time ideal for large back yards. Reliability was key for us since other clocks we have installed in our back yard stop often. However, we have only had this clock for a month or so. September 21, 2012
Flawless Purchase Our first outdoor clock from Frontgate lasted for thirteen years and, hopefully, the new one will prove to be equally reliable. The purchasing process went very smoothly. April 16, 2013
Super clock This clock is so stylish for my patio - can be seen from most places in the yard. Love it! May 17, 2013
Beautiful! The Oxford Outdoor Clock is beautiful in our backyard. We are so happy with its quality and looks. It keeps perfect time and temperature and it is large enough to see from our pool and various other areas in our backyard. We get compliments from everyone that visits. I would highly recommend the Oxford Outdoor clock. October 2, 2012
Nice Clock This is a really good looking clock, bigger than most of the others we considered. It keeps good time but the temperature gauge may not be quite right. The hands for the clock and temperature gauge seemed to hang up on one another. It wasn't bad enough to make us send the clock back but it might if you were a perfectionist. August 30, 2012
Nice Very nice piece. Read a lot of complaints about it not working but so far ours is fine. It is BIG so be sure your spot can handle the size. April 22, 2013
Outdoor clock/thermostat Nice looking however I am not sure of the accuracy of the thermometer and hygrometer.Seems a bit off so far. Will have to continue to monitor. April 19, 2013
Well Worth the Money Very good looking, works as advertised. May 27, 2013
Great This is the best outdoor clock ever. It stands up to the weather and looks great. We had a strong storm blow through and the clock didnt even move! April 15, 2013
Love this clock! My husband loves clocks and he loved this one so much we purchased two! It has a beautiful face and it runs well! April 30, 2013
Very pleased! We just love our new clock, thermometer and humidity reader! It looks fantastic on our patio and is even nicer than we expected! April 23, 2013
Perfect Pool Area Clock We've found we like to have a large clock in the pool area so you can see it without getting out of the water. A thermometer on the same clock face is a real bonus. When our old one finally gave up, we knew we had to have another large face clock at the pool. This one really looks nice and gets compliments at pool parties. July 31, 2012
Perfect deck accessory The outside clock/thermometer is absolutely beautiful. Mounted on the fireplace stone, it is a wonderful addition and can be viewed by golfers passing by. We love it. March 30, 2013
Oxford Outdoor Clock I hope this is a better quality than the one it is replacing. It looks beautiful and seems to operate seemlessly. I'm impressed with this clock however the last one had a meltdown after 15 months. Frontgate was wonderful about a replacement. January 23, 2013
Great time keeper The Oxford Outdoor Clock is quite beautiful and a very nice addition to my outdoor patio. Plus, it keeps accurate time and temperature (and probably humidity as well). March 26, 2013
Excellent Purchase and Value I'm extremely pleased with my purchase of the Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer and look forward to many years of service. April 17, 2013
Beautiful Clock We are very pleased with our purchase. The clock is high quality and looks beautiful over our outdoor fireplace. I would recommend it to anyone. Easy to read as well. March 25, 2013
Love the Clock This clock is working out great in our new patio area. We needed something bigger and I am so glad it has the humidity and temperature readings. I was concerned how it would hold up under rain. We have had it up for about two weeks and have had several storms and downpours come through and it is running great! August 10, 2012
Elegant/functional. I only had this unit about a week installed and have to say I like the look/finish on the exterior wall of my garage facing the yard. Quick access to time/temp. Only complaint -- I would have liked if perhaps they included a couple of installation hooks/mounts to avoid having to look for a mounting method. August 26, 2012

Answer:
It does not rust.. The Copper color just wears out after a year or so. The Facia separates from the unit, and the thermometer, and the hygrometer stopped working after one year.

Answer:
It is sealed pretty well. The only place it could rust would be where the hands come together and/or are connected to the mechanism., and that would only happen over a long period of time. I had many years from a clock similar to this before it got any rust.

Answer:
I would assume it to be rust resistant since it appears to be plastic made to look like copper. I don't know how it would hold up if exposed to direct rain, but I think it would be okay on a covered porch like ours.

Answer:
No, it is not rust-proof.

This type of material is generally quite susceptible to rusting in damp or humid climates.

Rust will quickly deverlope if this clock is scratched or chipped in any manner.

The inside bottom lip is the first place that you should expect rust to start developing if water can get behind your clock.

Rust can be slowed by annual respraying of a clear coat spray paint such as Rustoleum (either gloss or satin). With annual respraying, the closck should last five or more years.

Can't access it, but it is definitely not paper - it appears to be hard plastic. We've had ours hanging outside on a semi-covered porch for the past month and it's working great (in spite of all the rain we've been getting)!

After drilling the hole in the masonry we inserted a screw anchor for stability and strength. The clock is very secure and designed to sit on the screw and after pulling down on the clock a bit it locks into place.

Our outdoor wall is made of stucco, so I used a small drill bit to put a beginning hole in the wall, then hammered in a concrete nail with a head wide enough to fit the holder on the back of the clock. Worked very well.

How is the time set?

I currently have an outdoor clock like this that I would like to replace. It has a feature that allows it to "self-set" the time via radio frequency. How is the time set on this clock?

Answer:
It could be because of the large size of the clock. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as great for inside as outside.
I would just make sure you have a good size wall to hang it on so it doesn't overwelm the wall or anything else displayed on the same wall.
