Oxford Outdoor Clock with Thermometer 4.4 5 458 485
Perfect Fit The clock combo fits perfectly into its outdoor wall space location allowing visibility from many angles and distances. The face of the clock can be read at several distances so people checking time in the sun, cooking timing, and general time of day can easily check with a glance. The clock also fits perfectly with our outdoor furniture and planting colors. April 29, 2013
Does not last Bought this clock 2 years ago. Looked good for a while but then paper backing on number dial of clock started to peel up on sides. It is on a covered patio, out of sunlight and we have mild winters in the Dallas area. Now it looks really bad. Called Frontgate about problem and was told this just happens with humidity outside. Buyer beware! June 5, 2013
Love this clock! I wanted an outdoor clock for our patio and this turned out to be the perfect one! The size is great because it can be seen from a distance and it's nice to be able to check the temperature outside when I'm standing inside the house. Wouldn't hesitate recommending this to anyone wanting an outdoor clock/thermometer. July 9, 2013
outdoor clock We had purchased several years ago an outdoor clock from Frontgate that was not glass enclosed and it was constantly breaking down. This time we decided to go with a glass enclosed and so far this is running well and looks great. The thermometer part is a bit useless since we are often over 100 degrees but still overall a nice looking addition to our pool decor. Just hope that it works a long time. July 14, 2012
Oxford Clock Looks Great Purchased it for my sunroom, so it is used indoors. Looks great. Looks much better than others I looked at. Clock face very distinctive, with raised numerals. Thermometer and humidity gauge appear to be accurate. Only problem, I wish it hooked up to atomic clock and adjusted itself with time changes. But changing the time is easy. Very lightweight, so you don't need a heavy hook to hang itl November 6, 2012
Great outdoor clock I bought this on sale to go above my outdoor fireplace beside our pool. The mantle is under a sheltered area, so the clock is not directly exposed to the elements. It looks absolutely beautiful and has been keeping perfect time for the few weeks we have had it. It arrived quickly and was well-packaged. July 18, 2013
Great outdoor clock We bought this clock to hang on a fence facing our kitchen/breakfast nook. It's great looking and easy to read from our kitchen. The temperature gauge seems accurate and agrees with other devices. It simply looks great in the yard. September 13, 2013
Careful if you live in Texas Purchased the predecessor to this roman numeral clock a couple of years ago. (Exactly the same other than the roman numerals.) Since then, the face of the clock is cracking and it looks like the seal between the glass and the outside shell is melting! Is under an eve, so it doesn't get direct sunlight but looks like it can not handle the Texas temps. April 28, 2013
Great looking B U T ... clock looks AWESOME, it is a great size and it looks like and EXPENSIVE clock...However, the minute hand actually gets caught on the "hand" on the humidity dial and stops the clock!! At first we thought the battery kept dying, then we realized what the problem was. Frustrating to constantly have to fix the time. May no longer be a problem now that the weather and humidity have dropped! November 9, 2012
Great Gift I recently purchased the Oxford Outdoor Clock for my daughter's birthday. She was ecstatic and the copper color looks very classy on her back patio. The large numbers make it easy to see from the pool and the temperature display is fun since our summers in Arizona are hot hot hot. August 2, 2013
additional info I like the clock very much, however I bought it to place on a wall that would be exposed to the elements. The instructions which came with the clock says it should be placed in a "protective" area. If I had known that before I might not have purchased it. This would be good to include in your write up. July 10, 2013
Great looking clock The clock is beautiful, and appears to be very solid and functional. Haven't had it long enough to give a durability report, but so far so good. If it comes from Frontgate, I feel confident in it, and am sure that if anything does go wrong, the incredible customer service and support from Frontgate will come to the rescue. June 10, 2013
Owner .Great clock looks good on the wall. However, the thermometer does not work and I'm not sure of the humidity meter. The thermometer was reading over 100 degree on an 80 degree day then went all the way past the highest reading the following day (way beyond as a total failure). That's very disappointing. July 3, 2013
Nice purchase I looked around for a clock this size and nice looking for a while. I was very pleased with the clock, as it came quickly and is working perfectly. It's a nice addition to my outdoor seating and I can actually read it without glasses ,yeah! Hope it holds up. August 16, 2013
Great Clock I needed a outdoor clock that I could read from a distance. This clock is GREAT. Made very sturdy, easy to read, large enough so it can be seen from a distance, and it looks great on the outside wall of my patio. I would highly recommend this clock.. August 20, 2013
Really great outdoor clock We wanted something to go with our mission style farmhouse and small farmette that would allow us to keep track of time and temperature while gardening. We easily installed the Oxford Outdoor clock on our garden shed and it's visible from everywhere! Beautiful patina-like finish, quality workmanship, all in all a fabulous buy. May 20, 2013
Great Bargain Purchased the clock based on the reviews from other customers and am not dissapointed. Beautiful clock and outstanding bargain! Easy to read and is large enough to fill outdoor wall space. GREAT DEAL! September 20, 2013
Love This Clock This is one classy clock! Our last outdoor clock was destroyed in a high wind storm, and this replacement improves on the last one. It is sturdy and ready to withstand Houston heat-- under our breezeway. Best of all, it is easy to read from anywhere around the pool. The bronze finish suits our Austin-stone exterior perfectly! And, we'll take this one down when the wind gets high.... August 2, 2012
Bad Timekeeper The Oxford outdoor clock we purchased from Frontgate has given us nothing but trouble. While it looks attractive, it has stopped working several times in the first two weeks. I have had to dismantle it twice and try to straighten out the hands because they keep sticking on each other and on the temperature and humidity hands. Overall we are very disappointed with this product. October 22, 2012
Beautiful clock Love our new outdoor clock. No longer have to run inside to see what time it is particularly when working outside in the yard. It has been a great addition to our house. We may take it in in the winter but the rest of the year will enjoy it outside. Many Thanks. August 8, 2013
Beautiful large outdoor clock and more Great outdoor clock that is handsomely made, visually appealing, easy to read and can be a center piece to any outdoor patio/lanai area. October 16, 2013
Excellent Outdoor Clock I am impressed with the quality and look of this clock for reasonable price. This was the best option I had found for this size range and is exactly what I had hoped for. Clock and guages work well, could not ask for more. September 4, 2013
This Outdoor Clock is Lovely. The photograph in the magazine just doesn't do this clock justice. When we opened the box, the first thing we noticed, was just how beautiful this clock really is. The materials are top quality and the finish on the clock surround is stunning. We almost don't want to put it outside. This clock will add a touch of elegance to our backyard. Indrani Palm Springs CA. January 10, 2013
Oxford Outdoor Clock The clock is beautiful. We had one before and always took it in, in the winter since we live on the water. We lost the clock when hurricane Sandy hit last year and flooded our basement, so I had to replace it, thank you for continueing to make this item. August 9, 2013
Classy outdoor clock The look of sophistication for my pool area and its practical also. I've only had it for about a week but it's working as it should and as always Frontgate always backs up their products with the utmost service. September 7, 2013
Oxford Outdoor Clock We are very pleased with the clock and it looks great on our back patio! We needed a clock big enough to see from the pool and this one fits the bill. It is very handsome and goes well with our outdoor environment. September 2, 2013
Stylish and good value Been looking for some time for something for wall on covered part of lanai by our pool. This outdoor clock is a great size -stylish and good value for money. Only had it up for a week - so far the time and temp. seem to be accurate, unable to determine about humidity. Hope this can stand up to the FL elements. May 27, 2013
Delighted by this item! Added a large screened porch with soaring ceiling to our formal colonial four years ago -- and it has become a new core to our lifestyle. Decided to put this clock/thermometer/humidity gauge in the visual centerpiece of the porch, and it worked perfectly! Thanks for a great appearing product -- and I caught it on sale! May 6, 2013
Very nice The clock is beautiful. It fits with our lanai furniture perfectly. My only concern is that it takes only one AA battery. I had to change the battery after approx 10 days. Perhaps it was an old stale battery. I have replaced the battery and we'll see how long it lasts. I hope it is not a problem with mechanism of the clock. April 25, 2013
Great Clock Its big so make sure you consider that when you buy it. However, it looks great, its well built, and keeps time accurately so far. The clock mechanism appears to be well sealed. Rain isn't our problem in Southern California but sun is. It is in direct sum light for the afternoon so we will see how it deals with the heat. April 25, 2013

Answer:
It does not rust.. The Copper color just wears out after a year or so. The Facia separates from the unit, and the thermometer, and the hygrometer stopped working after one year.

Answer:
It is sealed pretty well. The only place it could rust would be where the hands come together and/or are connected to the mechanism., and that would only happen over a long period of time. I had many years from a clock similar to this before it got any rust.

Answer:
I would assume it to be rust resistant since it appears to be plastic made to look like copper. I don't know how it would hold up if exposed to direct rain, but I think it would be okay on a covered porch like ours.

Answer:
No, it is not rust-proof.

This type of material is generally quite susceptible to rusting in damp or humid climates.

Rust will quickly deverlope if this clock is scratched or chipped in any manner.

The inside bottom lip is the first place that you should expect rust to start developing if water can get behind your clock.

Rust can be slowed by annual respraying of a clear coat spray paint such as Rustoleum (either gloss or satin). With annual respraying, the closck should last five or more years.

Can't access it, but it is definitely not paper - it appears to be hard plastic. We've had ours hanging outside on a semi-covered porch for the past month and it's working great (in spite of all the rain we've been getting)!

After drilling the hole in the masonry we inserted a screw anchor for stability and strength. The clock is very secure and designed to sit on the screw and after pulling down on the clock a bit it locks into place.

How is the time set?

Answer:
It could be because of the large size of the clock. I don't see why it wouldn't be just as great for inside as outside.
I would just make sure you have a good size wall to hang it on so it doesn't overwelm the wall or anything else displayed on the same wall.
