Poolside Cantilever Umbrella 4.5 5 13 13
best cantilever umbrella I have been looking for two years now and this is the best one. some umbrellas where twice the price . great color very well made and looks fantastic September 9, 2014
Attractive but not as sturdy as other umbrellas This is the only cantilever umbrella that I could find that would fit under the screen cage over my pool. In the case of our pool area, the height over the deck, where the base would sit, is only 8 feet and 3 inches, which excludes most other cantilever umbrellas, which are usually 9 or 10 feet in height. For the price, this one doesn't impress me, but, it looks nice and fits our height limitations. July 20, 2014
Perfect Umbrella for the Pool I am so happy that I finally decided to purchase this umbrella! Having it set up means that I can spend more time in my swimming pool without being blasted by sunlight. The umbrella was easy to assemble and set up. I would recommend it highly! June 24, 2014
fantastic easy to put together, adjust, and take down for the season. the swivel feature is very handy. this one developed a bound cable on its third use...however, FG was happy to send a replacement. now that's service with a smile....all too rare these days. buy with confidence. May 10, 2014
Awesome Umbrella! I purchased this umbrella a couple of weeks ago hoping that it would be heavy enough to not be blown away because of extreme windy conditions we deal with living in Southern California. It is huge and I placed it in between a double chaise and an 8 seating dining table and it turns very easily to completely shade each area perfectly. It's very sturdy and we didn't even put sand inside the base, just water and it works great to keep it from moving. It's also very good looking and is high end as far as patio umbrellas are concerned. I Highly recommend this umbrella for anyone's patio. April 17, 2014
Nice Umbrella...BUT I was very pleased with is umbrella until I found the base is loosing all the water I put in for weight. It does not appear to have a crack etc but I must refill the base every other day. September 30, 2013
Great Design This product replaced a similar cantilevered umbrella. This one is superior: - umbrella sits higher: I'm 6'4" and could not walk under the old umbrella without hitting my head, while I have no such problem with this one - smooth, easy deployment: the slide and crank mechanism makes the raising and opening of this umbrella much more effortless than my old umbrella which used a rope I had to pull manually. - rotating mechanism: this functionality is totally new; with the push of a foot-pedal, the entire umbrella rotates its mast at the base, making the umbrella much more flexible in its positioning without having to reposition the base anchor. - mast bolted to base, and therefore detachable to enable easier winter storage (this is also an improvement over my older model# - this new umbrella seems to be very stiff #good# and stable in breezes. Naturally we try to keep it closed when it gets windy, nonetheless the construction appears to be very solid and effective. The whole umbrella and base anchor #which is filled with water or sand for weight) are shipped in two boxes. August 13, 2013
Very easy to operate Looks great, very easy to operate. Easy to assemble though the directions are not the best. It can be assembled by one person - the umbrella will actually balance by itself on the rotating device before the screws are put in. Stuff a plastic bag or towel around the rotating device before installing the screws as it's hard to retreive a screw dropped into the opening. July 15, 2013

Answer:
It is recommended to fill the Poolside Cantilever Umbrella with wet sand to provide appropriate stability. Water alone will not provide enough weight to adequately stabilize the umbrella.
