Spa Teak Shower Bench with Shelf 4.8 5 255 272
We're quite pleased We are in the process of remodeling our guest bathroom and needed a place for whoever is in charge of bathing the grandkids (sometime the parents, sometimes us) to sit comfortably, yet look attractive when not in use. This will really fit the bill. It's good looking yet sturdy, and a quality piece. And it echoes the mostly straight, slightly curved lines of our plumbing knobs (an Asian look). The only slightly negative surprise is that there is a metal plate that say Frontgate on it. I'd have preferred not to have that. But it's tastefully done. Can't comment on durability because we have not yet used it, but I've never been disappointed with Frontgate's quality products. February 13, 2014
Spa Teak Shower Bench My shower bench arrived very quickly-fully assembled. It is very sturdy and nice looking. We have it placed in the shower-it dries quickly. April 4, 2014
Sturdy and durable, it does the job There is a story behind this so bear with me. When we moved into this house in 2003, one of its features in the master bath was steam shower. Inasmuch as we purchased this house "as is" there were a number of things throughout the house which did not work properly. I, the retired engineer, set about fixing them all. The steam shower was no exception. Turns out it needed new heating reservoir water level sensor. Done. Once repaired, my wife was dying to use it. Then, just as quickly, she wouldn't use it. Why? "Nowhere to sit; the built-in marble ledge is way too cold to sit on." Solution: this shower bench. To make a long story short, this sturdy and durable bench really does the job. Just ask my wife. PS: She did choose to rub in several coats of oil before putting it into use hoping to prolong the life of the wood. We will see. I don't think you can miss with this one. November 20, 2013
Spa Teak Bench Bought the spa teak bench to sit beside my tub in the master bath. It arrived as promised, extremely well packaged. Very happy with the product. I have a natural slate floor in the bath and the individual leg adjustments allowed me to level the bench. Very convenient to set a towel upon or sit down upon to put on shoes. The lower added shelf is a nice decorative feature. March 18, 2014
Great Quality The bench arrived on time and fully assembled. I was impressed from the moment I took it out of the box. It was quite heavy and had a great look to it. The bench now sits beside the tub in our master bathroom and I use it to sit on when bathing my daughter. It is comfortable and has enough room to store a couple of folded towels on the bottom shelf. March 15, 2014
Teak Spa Bench Had a slight issue with the one shipped. No questions asked ,promt and easy return. The new one arrived two days later.A beautiful ,functional peice.Definatley teak oil this product as it enhances the beauty.Really accents the bathroom.Would not hesitate to purchase again or recommend. March 5, 2014
Wonderful addition to my shower This bench was just what we need for our shower. Very beautiful March 3, 2014

The great thing about teak is that it is soft but durable and
doesn't get splinters like other woods. Sort of like bamboo
but not as slippery.

Answer:
Yes, it's designed to, but to keep the beautiful teak color,
you will want to oil it occasionally, otherwise it will turn a
gray washed shade...some like that...I prefer the warm 'blond' color and feel.

Teak wood is used as a deck in boats and on outside furniture. It will lose some of its color due to the chlorine in the water, but you can use a marine grade finish to protect the color.
