Garlands and Wreaths that Bring your Christmas Decor Full Circle
"My style is a bit ornate, yet I like to mix contemporary looks with traditional," says Brad Schmidt, one of Frontgate's celebrated holiday designers. His collections of brilliant wreaths
and shimmering garlands
will fill your home with non-traditional greenery that will become a focal point of your Christmas decor. "I am always inspired by current trends," he says, "then I like to reinvent the wheel by trying different techniques."
To create his luxurious Christmas wreath and garland displays, Schmidt says he draws inspiration from his worldwide travels. He first starts brainstorming ideas in his head, then works closely with creative directors at Frontgate to create photographic shots of samples. After that, it takes anywhere from one hour to two weeks to finalize a wreath or garland display.

"My Frontgate decorations are different, because they are exclusive for Frontgate and the design fits within Frongate's current trend story."
Schmidt's warm Oakwood Manor wreath and garland is an elegant mix of greenery and tree trimmings that combine an inviting holiday palette of colors with life-like evergreens. With a talented designer's eye for blending texture, color, and form, Schmidt seamlessly color-coordinated this elegant Christmas decor.
The Holiday Shimmer wreath and garland feature platinum, silver, gold, and chocolate hues that are tapered to provide shiny holiday decor that isn't harsh.
Schmidt's wreaths, garlands, and swag reflect the popular themes he sees for Christmas decorations this year, including shades of gold, chocolate, bronze, and rich metallic colors. Schmidt says all of his designs are hand-crafted, and he works exclusively with the best and largest importer in the business to bring his ideas to fruition.
"I hope people take a sense of innovative creativity home with them," Schmidt says about his holiday designs. "Something exciting to place in their home, year after year; something special that says, 'Wow, look at me.' I am honored to be part of Frontgate's elite design squad, and I look forward to many more seasons of creating holiday magic for Frontgate."
Schmidt has been working as a designer for 19 years, and his resume includes some impressive references, including Home & Garden television (HGTV), Merv Griffin Productions, Peter Brennen Productions (part of Paramount Productions), In Style magazine and Flowers magazine.
You may have seen Schmidt on TV: He was selected as a designer for two episodes of HGTV's Designers Challenge. He's also designed for Pamela Anderson, Director Robert Zemeckis, Denzel Washington, and Ti Babaloynia, a well known ice skater.
When outfitting your own estate with wreaths and garlands for festive holiday parties, Schmidt advises sticking with timeless classic colors that blend well with your home.
Even though his design career has taken him around the world and into celebrity homes, his Midwestern roots are grounded in tradition and timeless beauty. You can see this sophisticated approach to classic design in his inspired Christmas collection for Frontgate.
