Vector Retractable Hose Reel is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 207.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retractable Hose Reel Since installing the first unit, some years ago, I have bought one for my Son's place and also one for the back of our house. It is one of the nicest items for our yard and makes it effortless to use and then "coil" it back into it's housing. I recently gave one as a house-warming present to a friend and he too loves it. I rate this with 5 stars and love it. Phrogrep

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Retractable Hose Excellent product that my wife can easily use and move around the yard. Great value for 100' of hose and retractable. Like the change in design on tightening the spring. Time will determine if this feature is needed. My first retractable hose purchases lasted for five years before the springs failed. These may last longer with this new design. Mounting system is better than original design as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hose reel I purchased the reel and the post on sale. Excellent so far. Has made my garden work a lot easier. No more messing with cranking a hose back to storage. The parts appear to be made of quality material. Had it for a month. So far a great a idea. Hope it last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Like How They Work! Bought one of these about 7 years ago. It did a great job, but finally wore out. They work just as described and are easy to install!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this hose!! I needed a hose to water all the plants inside my screened-in lanai, but hated reeling and unreeling the hose every time. I tried two different types of traditional hose reels; both were clunky, inconvenient and scraped along the pool deck instead of remaining in place. I was skeptical about this one, but it is absolutely fabulous! The ability to swivel, the quality of the hose, the length, and the automatic retraction feature make my watering so easy now! I will say that mounting it to the wall took some time and effort (the concrete anchors were a bit tricky), but overall, it was well worth it! Love, love, love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Hose Reel Available After 40 years of buying and using many, many disappointing devices designed to make hose storage easy and convenient, this product from Frontgate is the "real deal". I purchased 2 reels in spring of 2013 and have used them through 3 spring/summer/fall seasons, easily storing them in the basement during winter. They have worked both flawlessly and very conveniently. As the directions state, you must walk the hose back to the reel - do not let go and let it run. Also, don't yank on the hose, just gentle pulls. The best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poolside Delight We just put in a pool, and the old hose was piled in an unsightly heap along the wall. Moreover, it only reached 50ft, and our pool is bigger than that. Now we have no more mess, and when I am done hosing off the deck, a quick jerk and the hose snakes across the pool back into its reel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Water Hose Product Once you go with this type of retractable hose product, you will never go back to just having a coiled hose next to your faucet. Easy to install and so nice that you don't have to recoil every time you water. Very solid product, although they will break down after 2-4 years of heavy usage. I have 3 of these and have gone thru a few over the years.

The instructions cover this and you can probably pull them up on line, or simply call Frontage.

Can someone please tell me the color of this latest model hose reel? It is hard to tell from the catalogs or website if it is taupe or gray. Thanks!

It is gray.

Can I remove it from the mount & connect it to another bib?

Can I remove it from the mount & connect it to another bib easily? What procedure would I follow?
Asked by: Pathroa
You would have to have another mount at the alternate location, but it could be done. I assume Frontgate sells it separately. Then you would merely unscrew the leader hose, lift the hose reel assembly off, then place it on the other mount and screw the hose in. Be sure to allow the hose to drain as much as possible before lifting the reel off. With water, it would be very heavy.

Does the unit come with the post?

If not, do you sell it?
Asked by: Fargo
It does not come with a post, however they do offer one for sale. It is steel and powder coated. I have mine cemented in the ground over a treated piece of 2x4 and it looks and works beautifully! I highly recommend the post if you don't want to mount the reel to your home

Will this work hanging from ceiling?

Would like to hang in my horse barn so hose is out of the way. Is the hardware (screws) strong enough for this application?
Asked by: Baboon
The hardware is plenty strong enough but the mounting bracket requires a verticle orientation. Mounting with the bracket on top would likely result in the reel slipping out of the mount and onto the floor (or horse). Modification of the bracket would be possible but would likely void any Frontgate warranty.
