Worth the wait! I ordered this screen during the busy winter months and it was out of stock. I was tempted to buy something else, but my heart was set on this screen. It just arrived and I am so happy with it! The glass is gorgeous and it very sturdy. Our home is eclectic with a mix of Asian antiques and contemporary art. It fits in perfectly and I think it could really go in any room! May 16, 2012

Victorian Fireplace screen The screen is majestic and beautiful, especially when the fire is lit. we received it in December, at the height of the season.... There is a tiny crack in the glass, in the center panel,at the top by the beveled circle. Try as we might, there was just no time to call and alert you of the situation, as we have 5 living grandparents and getting their gifts out was of utmost importance... the crack is small, and only we really notice it, but you might want to alert the manufacturer, because I'll bet it happened in the shipping process. It appeared to be foamed and wrapped well. We are very satisfied with all else. Thank you! January 3, 2012

Beautiful product The Beveled glass fireplace screen arrived quickly and was packed to safeguard fine china. Assembly required the insertion of four pins and took a couple of minutes. The screen is beautiful and greatly enhances the fireplace. One caution, however. Be careful of the amount of heat from your fireplace. We originally placed it in front of a large open, gas log fireplace. The direct heat caused the frame to oxidize and form unsightly grey buildup and reidue. We moved it to a fireplace that was enclosed with a glass front and there have been no further problems. November 4, 2011

Great appearance, but not functional I love the look of the firescreen that I purchased. But I wish I had been told before I bought it that is was not to be used with a really hot fire. This makes it less practical. Also there are not handles to pick up this very heavy screen. Thus it should be purchased for looks and not utility. Not good if you burn a lot of hot fires, probably best with a gas fire. October 25, 2011

Don't hate it, don't love it The screen is beautiful, but it is more flimsy than I anticipated. I have children, and I expected this to have more weight to it- it doesn't. I'm sure I could have read this in the actual ad, but I missed it. We are keeping it and find it attractive, but for the money... Well, the quality does not seem markedly more to justify the price. Stunning! We fell in love with this screen the first time we saw it in the catalog but put off purchasing it as we thought it would be too small for our somewhat large fireplace. After six months of searching everywhere for something similar but larger, (even tried to commission a glass maker to build one) we finally said "what the heck" and purchased it - and we couldn't be happier!! One of the My Favorite Things! I love this product! It is absolutely beautiful and gives the entire fireplace such elegance. It looks especially beautiful when a fire is crackling behind the beveled panes of glass. The packaging to ensure that the item did not shatter was unbelievable. The box was thickly padded to protect the glass. Assembly was easy and only took a minute. I would highly recommend this item. My only hesitation would be if I had young children in the house. I would be concerned about them knocking it over onto our hard surface floors not to mention any fingerprints that they may leave. August 26, 2011
