11' Round Side Mount Umbrella is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from 11 foot Umbrellas Hello everyone, this is the second time we have ordered these umbrellas. The first go round they were very sturdy, thick fabric......we just received two new exact umbrellas......to our dismay we’re very disappointed. The fabric is very thin, cheap feeling & the metal is not as sturdy, heavy as our originals!!!! Hope these are not from China....they seem to produce inferior products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST! We looked at A LOT of umbrellas and their reviews before this purchase. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend but WOW! It is exactly what we were looking for. SO EASY to set up (needed to two people to lift it into the base) suggestion about bagging the sand was awesome! No problems with wind! So easy to shift as we use it over the high part of our deck and swing it over to cover the hot tub, as well. We LOVE this and have received so many compliments, and a few friends have purchased it after seeing ours!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor base design No matter how tightly you attempt to tighten the collar, the umbrella will turn in the base with the slightest wind. Plastic "fingers" do not hold against the metal umbrella shaft. Our previous umbrella had stops for the various positions. In addition the base was metal and utilized included sand bags not requiring the removal of the sand and storage as does your base during the winter. No small task given the small compartments and 300 lbs. of sand. I like the umbrella, but the base is poorly designed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Side Mount Umbrella I love the color of the umbrella and the shade it provides. I am having some issues keeping it from spinning when there is a breeze. Any suggestions?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied Customer This product is just as advertised: well-built, sturdy, and very easy to assemble. We couldn't be happier with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with the umbrella All in all this is a solid umbrella. Provides big radius of shade and looks good in my yard. We filled the base completely full of rocks (got bags from HomeDepot), the first time we didn't put enough and th umbrella tipped over in the wind but now it's fine. I would have given it a 5 star if the operation of it was a bit more covinient - I need to use a tool to loosen and tighten the swing adjuster or it's not going to be tight enough for the umbrella to hold its canopy position in the slightest wind. We also have had the European Side Mount umbrella from front gate for over a yr now which in comparison is much easiest to operate, but that's also few hundred dollars more. Will see how it stands up to test of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Curved umbrella We love the umbrella. The product is exceptional the only thing we have found is we can not keep it locked to stay in one place. When it is a little windy, less than 10 mph, the cantilever center will rotate significantly, 4 to 6 feet, away from being centered over our table. We initially handtighened as best we could. This did not work so I went to the hardware store and bought an IRWIN QUICK-GRIP 12-inch medium duty 300 lbs.clamping force device to allow me a leveraging grip which tightened it with additional rotation. but- again not to much effect. To me it seems that the white plastic grasping insert is poorly designed for the weight and wind force it has to resist. Have others questioned his effect? Any suggestions?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Better hope it doesn't break! I have three of these and the internal winch (socket B) has fully failed in one and is close to failing in a second. This means that when you turn loose of the handle the umbrella collapses. Frontgate has advised that no parts are available. They further advise that they cant even tell me the name of the manufacturer so I can try to get parts: " I’m very sorry, we sign confidentiality agreements with our manufacturers, and we are unable to disclose that information." I think that a very expensive umbrella should not be considered a disposable item. Replacement parts should be available.

Cannot extend or retract the arm

I bought two of these last year and love them. However the crank that extends the arm on one of them doesn't work any more - the crank goes around but feels like the gears are slipping. Any way I can get this replaced or repaired - umbrella doesn't work unless you can extend the arm.

what is the collapsible tent pole for with the cover and where does it go (assuming when storing)?

Asked by: JFiddie
Thank you for your interest in the 11' Round Side Mount Umbrella. The pole that comes with the cover for this umbrella is used to lift and remove the cover over the top of the umbrella.

Tiny Black Spots on Canopy

Purchased the 11' Round Side Mount Umbrella new this summer. I love it! However, after the first rain, I noticed "tiny black spots " in several areas of the umbrella. I tried to remove them with warm sponge and mild dish soap. They did not wash off. What else shall I try ? And, how would you wash a canopy in a washing machine?
Asked by: SAMK
Thank you for your interest in the 11' Round Side Mount Umbrella. We are very sorry to hear about your canopy. To remove these spots you may wish to add a small amount of bleach into the soap/water mixture and scrub the fabric with a soft bristle brush; rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.

How do I stabilize it in slight wind from rotating away from the desired position?

Asked by: Randew
Thank you for your interest in the 11' Round Side Mount Umbrella. To prevent this umbrella from rotating in the wind, first insure that the clamp piece in the base is inserted correctly with the gaps aligned with the base stem grooves; then ensure the stem is tightened onto the main frame.
