21-inch Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Return a mess The gate was much shorter than I expected and was stained- like it had been in box a long time. Most stains came off- some did not, but not a major deal. My major problem was with the return. I will have to say frontgate has always been outstanding in merchandise and returns, but somehow paypay got involved and there was a charge from them even though I never use paypal so credit went back to them and between their fee and the shipping it was a significant monetary loss for me. The girls that tried to help me with the return at the store were great and had no idea how all this happened so was time spent going through managers etc, but frustrating enough that I will never order from them again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid design; not perfect This gate is theoretically perfect for my needs. As there aren’t any reviews yet, I’ll include one. I needed a step-over doorway gate for my small dog. The finishing is good and what you’d expect from Frontgate. Packaged well and no flaws in paint, etc. The tension mount works well. My only complaint is that my home was built in the 50’s and it doesn’t have large doorways. I don’t need the extension piece and would prefer not to use it but the design doesn’t have holes for the tension mount on both sides of the main piece. In other words, you *have* to use the extension. This would have been a simple, easy add to the design (literally drilling 2 extra holes). I might attempt to drill them myself, but as I don’t have a vise to keep everything straight, this might get tricky. Overall, the appearance of the extra piece is clunky in my opinion but I understand the design choice for wider doorways. Pictures show from front & back.
