34"H Expandable Freestanding Mesh Pet Gate is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1057.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for our cats Purchased this gate because of it's 42" height (needed to restrict our two older cats from part of the house). It was exactly what we needed. We had been using the wooden gates that took both hands to move every time we needed through. This gate looks great, was extremely easy to install, and does the trick - cats are confined and we can pass through easily with only one free hand. It worked so well we bought a second one for another area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Sturdy, Flimsy, Breaks This gate is not sturdy. The gate tabs on top and bottom broke off too easily since the tabs are barely welded on. I had to have my handyman secure them with screws for it to work properly. The sides two can easily be bent in by the dog to escape. The purpose for purchasing was to add a barrier so when the front door is open my dog would not run away but stay safely behind the gate. She can easily push the sides in to get behind the gate to escape. Gate looks nice but does not do what it was intended to do. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality has slipped downward. I currently have three identical units that continue to work fine. Then I bought this additional gate....thus much easier to compare. New unit problems thus far include: Sliding spring loaded latch should remain fixed in one position that slides back and forth with spring assist. New gate sliding latch rotates instead of staying fixed as you pull it back to unlatch gate. Thumb slips off tab because it rotates and must ensure aligns to allow tapered edge in proper position. Not good. Also, the four adjusting threaded bolts on our other units are painted to match. New gate just received has bare metal threads that shine brightly that I must now paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful gate Sturdy and beautiful. Tall enough to keep my Cavalier away from the cats litter box. Short enough for me to step over easily. A forever piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the truck. We got this barrier so we could keep the guest room open for air circulation without the pup lifting us keg on the dust ruffle. Not only is it strudy but beautiful and is exactly what we needed. Like that I can use it in different areas because it expands and contracts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply beautiful! I bought this product to keep my Yorkies corraled during the day while I am at work. It is a high quality product that compliments the room. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality This gate is beautifully made. My dogs would push around my other gate, not this one. It’s easy to put together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product!!! My dog recently had back surgery and the vet told me that he no longer needed to jump on furniture or he could injure himself again. I needed two gates to put at each end of my kitchen to prevent him from going into the den where he goes straight for the couch. I looked at these gates, but at first I thought they were too pricey and ordered some of the cheaper ones from one of the big box pet stores. The base of the cheap gate was made of plastic and it did not have a door, so after stepping over it a few times my foot hit it the wrong way and it broke apart in a lot of different pieces. I decided to go ahead and order two of these Frontgate gates, and I cannot say enough good things about them. They look great in the house and could not be easier to put together. My dogs do not even try to mess with them, because they are solid and obviously do not slide or move. The latching door makes it really easy to go back and forth between rooms. Take it from me, you do pay more for these, but you are paying for the quality and strength. I would not go with any other option!

Is the gate designed in such a way that you could in theory stack another one top? We have a determined cat who can easily vault the gate, but I think two would deter her despite excellent jumping abilities.

Asked by: koh113
Thank you for your interest in the 42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Mesh Pet Gate. We do not recommend stacking two of these gates. This gate weighs 20 lbs., and though the tension mounts keep it in place, most of the weight should be resting on the floor to be stable.
