34-inch Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate 4.7 5 143 150
Pet gates Perfect, do the job plus add a decorative touch so much better then hopping over the tension baby gates! The swing door makes it much easier for me and the dogs to come and go and most important, my house thanks you! April 2, 2014
Another Great Purchase The tension mount prevents having to make holes in wood trim/molding. And the gate allows easy access for elderly family members without having to step over barriers. Matches larger gate and rail have elsewhere in the house. March 28, 2014
great dog gate! Easy to install, looks great. The door (which opens in both directions) makes it so easy to pass through. Would highly recommend. March 27, 2014
Dog Gate We needed something to separate the new puppies from the old cat. As exuberant as the puppies are, they cant get through the new gate, and it looks great too. March 26, 2014
Gate vs. very stubborn dog The gate is attractive, very easy to install. At first my 60lb mixed breed seemed to have little trouble getting through it (not over it, too high for that!). Never sure how he did it; he'd be waiting inside the front door everytime I came home and the gate would be behind him right where I left it AND latched. Tightened the top down quite a bit and put something in front of it so he couldn't jump at it, seems to be working for now. I don't understand why they furnish two sliding bolts to latch the gate, but only one is spring loaded. The other is so easily moved by finger pressure that I'm not sure it does any good at all. I would have springloaded both of them for more security and latching power. We'll see if this holds or not. March 25, 2014
Best thing ever Have a new puppy and this may keep my sanity. Looks great ,works great and was easy to set up. As always Frongate comes through! March 25, 2014
Love this Gate This gate is beautiful and keep our dog from going into rooms that are off limits. It was easy to install and works like a charm. March 12, 2014
beautiful and functioning pet gate Ordered the 34" Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate nice looking gate and functions well, too. I was concerned when the gate arrived and I didn't quite understand the "spring load". When I put gate in place it all made sense. I would recommend. I have a 16" 35 lb. Beagle mix. February 26, 2014

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The clearance on the sides of the 34 inch Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate is 2 1/8" on each side. Most dogs would not be able to fit through this space.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. There is no minimum clearance required for the Expanding Tension Mount Pet Gate. You may install it so that the bottom bar rests on the floor, or with a gap between the bar and floor - whichever you desire.
