42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Mesh Pet Gate is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 196.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Dog gate We bought two of these gate several months ago and just love them. First dog gate that our two 68lb Golden doodles can’t over power, and they look great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great gate--doesn't fit a standard doorway! This gate would be ideal if it was about an inch or two narrower and could be used in a normal doorway. Really not sure why it's so wide (or why it's not adjustable for those few inches like a baby gate often is). Like other reviewers said, MEASURE FIRST before ordering. There was no possible way I could get it into the doorway I needed it. My bad for not measuring (or for assuming there was more wiggle room around 32-33" because there isn't. I'd only recommend it if you have a wider space to put it in and if you tie the cat door shut (if you have small animals who could get through it).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gate with high-quality material! Great gate, high quality! My only feedback would be if you need to extend the entire width you may have big gaps on each side and need a solution for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good gate This gate is durable, looks nice, and should last a long time. I have rabbits who would chew through gates made of other materials, jump over gates shorter than 35" tall, and squeeze through gates with wide enough gaps between the bars. This gate does only fit in a particular size doorway, and it actually was just too wide for the ones in my 1925 home. I was able to mount it partially between the doorway with the other half against the corner of the room. If the gate would have been narrower than the doorway, the gaps on the sides may have been too big anyway, so the way that I have it set up works for my needs. One other criticism I have is that the small pet door can be opened too easily by clever pets. The latch isn't very strong and only needs to be lifted for the door to open freely. I have mine tied closed with some wire. Very nice gate. Could be better, but it's the best option if you have very small escape artists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have been using two of these gates in my house for several months. Love them. Had to add lumber on one gate. Added two x four's on each side and counter sunk holes for the tension mounts. This way when the big dogs jump up it does not move and is very stable. Plan on buying more. Very easy to open and close. The dog can open the cat door. Should have better lock on cat door. Wish they had more width sizes with this height.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gate, Worth the Price This gate is wonderful, I spent a year looking for the right gate to go between my kitchen and dining room. It had to be something substantial and nice looking. I didn't really want to put a gate in but it was necessary because of my dogs. After putting it in, I was pleasantly surprised, it looks like it should be there!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but I wish it was taller We bought this pet gate to help separate our two cats who aren't adjusting well to each other. I will start by saying that it's the best gate out there that we were able to find. I'm grateful we have it. It looks nice and works well. But it required some elbow grease to make it work. First, it's too narrow for our hallway. I don't think our hallway is atypical. So we had to buy some lumber to put on either side of the gate to make it fit. We also bought some pet screen material that we staple-gunned down to the lumber to prevent pets passing through the area on the sides. Secondly, it's too short. So we have a baby gate mounted just above this to prevent the cats from simply jumping over it. This was an improvement over of previous system of three baby gates stacked on top of each other, as it's almost the same height of two baby gates. But it does mean we still have to duck. It would be so great if this were taller, or if there was some kind of extension.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Perfect! I bought this gate a couple of weeks ago. I have two cats that need to be kept in a certain area of the house. I have tried other products including something that attached to the wall. My cats still managed to find a way through. This product has worked beautifully. Sturdy, solid, and cats cannot get through. It is also easy for the humans to move back and forth. I checked measurements carefully before ordering as reviews said to do. Cannot thank you enough--this has made my life with my cats so much better!

I need to get another set of the plastic cups that screw into the wall to keep the door steady. Lost 3 of the 4 somehow. Do you know where I can order these separate from the door?

Asked by: jbshaps
I used a 3d design program, available free on the internet, to design the part, then print with a 3D printer. So my issue has been resolved. If you need the design plans, I can post to their site.

Can my cat tear the mesh with her claws?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your interest in the 42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Mesh Pet Gate. The mesh on this gate is made of metal and is designed to withstand most pets. However, a very determined pet may still be able to damage the mesh. We recommend considering your individual pet's disposition when purchasing a pet gate.
