42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Mesh Pet Gate is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 165.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gate This is a beautiful gate. I wasn’t happy about the price, however, after receiving, it is worth the price. It is attractive, strudy and simply perfect. Easy to install. Just measure your dooeway before you order. It might not fit smaller doorways. I actually have mine at a slight angel on the wall and in the doorway because it was about 1/2 inch too wide for the doorway. It works perfectly this way and looks great. Tip, do use wall pads or the tension pads will mark your wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase! We bought this gate to contain our five cats to one wing of the house. It's a very pretty gate and also very sturdy. You definitely get your money's worth. The ONLY problem is that one of our cats is a jumper, and I thought for sure that 42 inches was high enough. No such luck. But at least the other four have no desire to jump it. Very glad I made this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointed Gate came with a hole in it and was only given $24 off or the responsibility to pack it up and send it back for exchange... I needed the gate when I got it and didn't have the time to mess with exchange....the customer service wasn't very concerned...originally they wanted to give me less than that, I had to fight for the $24!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good The gate is great, sturdy and solid. I'm not thrilled about the screw adjustment posts though. They really need to be much thicker to help prevent the gate from swaying if the dog jumps up. Other than that I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Pet Gate Out There I have 12 rescued wiener dogs and lots of gates to keep them from where they shouldn't be. I've tried them all and this gate wins for most attractive and functional. It's tall enough to prevent my acrobatic leaping dachshund from jumping over, and the mesh keeps everyone where they should be. A couple of suggestions - my wieners quickly figured out how to open the small door at the bottom, and I had to zip tie it closed. Also the gate would be PERFECT if it opened in both directions instead of one and had a "stay open" option (I have to use a doorstop for this purpose). I had to deduct a star for these minor issues , since it's an expensive gate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome dog gate! It's very attractive, not only does it look great, but it works perfectly. I wish I had bought this a long time ago! I may buy another one. I would recommend to anyone wanting to keep their dog in but still have access to the door way. I don't have a cat so the cat door isn't something I've used. It came in perfect condition and with quick delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pet gate After 3 other purchases for a pet gate to contain my 95 pound Bouvier, I found the right one! He is so smart, and escaped from other gates within a day. FINALLY I ordered this attractive gate that is well made and very stable and strong. An added bonus is its height. I highly recommend this pet gate. I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot On Pet Gate I was having trouble containing my 70 pound half pit/half heeler to the kitchen while I was at work. It seems she just did not like the mailman and would barrel through the little white gate I had, causing chaos. I was careful to read the helpful reviews about this gate and am so glad I ordered it. It is much taller and she doesn't even try to go through or over it. It must be intimidating to her due to how tall it is. Anyway, it works! Not only that but it is darn cute. It looks like a little mini-screen door to me and it is substantially built. Yes, a very small dog or puppy could get through the sides; however, it would have to be a very small dog (extremely tiny.) I am very happy with this purchase. It also arrived in a timely manner and was a breeze to install.

We use a gate in front of outback door which is commonly used. Is the latch something easy for all ages to open and secure repeatedly?

I simply need to be sure whichever gate I purchase has easy access for all ages to open and close Every time someone leaves the house

Colors/Size of Cat Door

Is the color of this deep brown or is it black? Does it come in white? Also, I have a corgi sized dog (40 lbs, 16 inches from floor to shoulder, 11 inches wide) do you think he could get through the cat door? The point of this gate would be to keep him and other VERY athletic Collie/Husky mix from jumping into the cat room and eating their food!
Asked by: selahbela
Thank you for your interest in the 42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Mesh Pet Gate. This gate is a dark bronze/brown color. The smaller gate opening is 6-3/4"W x 10"H, but can be latched to keep it closed.

Is it possible to use hardware to mount this gate?

I have several large dogs (100+ pounds each) who are used to jumping up and putting their front paws on the top of the (very ugly) hardware mounted gate we have. I would love to upgrade to an attractive gate such as this but I can't see a tension mounted gate working for my dogs because of this reason. Is there any way to mount this gate to the door using hardware?
Asked by: LeoLover
I mounted my gate using some 2 x 4s to reduce the opening to ensure that the tension mounts were very strong. This is a great gate, plus I mounted the gate ABOVE the baseboard as my dog is too big to escape under it.

How secure is the latching mechanism?

Can you tell me where the latch is located, and how it works? My 18 lb French bulldog/pug mix has escaped from another pen I have that has a latching mechanism that opens by lightly lifting and pushing or pulling the gate door.
Asked by: avalonlight
The last is at the very top of the gate. It is very convenient and you simply slide the lever smoothly back to open it. I don't see how an 18 pound dog could reach it in any way to dislodge it.

Will my small 54lb Boxer get through the cat door? We had a shorter gate once and couldn't figure out if she got through the cat door or jumped over

Asked by: Jesco
Thank you for your interest in the 42"H Tension-mount Dual Door Steel Mesh Pet Gate. The small gate opening is 6-3/4"W x 10"H. To see if your boxer will fit through it, we recommend measuring across her shoulders. Please also note that the small gate opening can be latched closed.
