Can this be used for seating?
Would love to use this for both storage of cushions and additional seating... can it be used for such, either when full of pillows and/or when empty?

If this is exposed to rain, will water get inside the storage chest?
Yes it will. Mine leaks around the sides, so anything against the edges gets wet. Not happy about that.

Is this real wicker or synthetic? How does it fare in the SW desert summer heat?
We've owned this for 22 months (only one summer) in central Florida and it is 'shot'. The bronze color has become a greenish-grey and the material has become so brittle that it breaks if you touch it. I've included some photos.
Unfortunate because it's a great piece! I don't know if I got a bad one - the other people answering this question had more positive experiences!

I just received this storage chest and it opened beautifully, but I can not get it to shut...is there a trick to it?
For us, it's a matter of lots of muscle! Even after 18 months it is difficult to close.

Outdoor winter storage
Should this be covered in the winter when exposed to snow? If it should be covered, do you sell a cover that would fit this chest?
I had 3 for 8 years in 100* Texas heat and exposed all winter. Not a single problem. If you really want to cover it I'd suggest a large tarp or maybe an outdoor sofa cover. Nothing is going to fit perfectly but it might put your mind at ease.

will large chest fit torrey wicker square arm cushions?
Will the large (58" x 26" x 30") storage chest fit the 30" x 30" Torrey All-Weather Wicker Square-Arm Section Set cushions? It's not clear whether or not the storage chest dimensions include the legs (in which case the cushions would definitely not fit!). Unfortunately the XL storage chest is not an option.

Pool float storage
I am looking for a storage chest to hold 4 of your signature pool floats!!! I tried the hanging rack and it fell twice and broke after the third install. NOT GOOD!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!! I need a chest or trunk and trying to determine which one of the several you have online. I have 4 signature pool floats http://www.frontgate.com/world-27s-finest-pool-floats/pool-beach/pool-floats/158297 and 4 aqua saddles. http://www.frontgate.com/aqua-saddle-floating-pool-chair/pool-beach/pool-floats/531485 I am not too worried about the saddles but the pool floats are a mess to store~!! I recently purchased the Palermo curved sofas. The curved cushions do not fit in our deck box. Will they fit in your XL all weather wicker one?

What about with a cover over it? I live on the third floor and do not have enough storage in my shared underground garage. If this one won't serve this purpose do you have another chest that will?
Thank you for contacting the Frontgate Product Specialist Department. The chest has an Inner liner that helps keep cushions or beach equipment dry and mildew-free and is constructed of all-weather, UV-resistant wicker in bronze. It should be fine throughout the winter with a cover over it.

I intend to keep pool items in the chest. What will happen if the items were exposed to chlorine? Will this erode the interior of the chest?
Are there drainage holes on the bottom?

Unfortunately, this item is not recommended to be used with items that have been exposed to chlorine or other chemicals as it will damage the interior lining. I bought the large wicker storage two or three years ago. Even though we keep it covered most of the time the wicker top is coming apart. The sides still look new. Does this have a guarantee or can I get a new top?

Very Roomy & attractive
This is the 2nd storage chest I have purchased from FG. The 1st lasted about 10yrs. Eventually the heat & hot sun of Las Vegas destroyed the wicker top. But I just purchased & received the new extra large one. It's beautiful & it's actually 10 inches longer than the previous one, so that was a pleasant surprise! It's expensive, but worth it. Sturdy.

Keeps Cushions Dry
I purchased 2 wicker storage chest several years ago for my home in TN. They have done a great job in keeping my cushions dry. The are both in a totally exposed area on our pool deck. I am purchasing 2 more for a beach home in SC.

I bought this storage chest at least 8 or 9 years ago, it has been outside for about 8 months a year on my deck on the lake in Michigan. It really keeps my cushions clean and dry, I'm amazed that it still looks great after all this time. Love it!!
