On the fence
I’ve been looking at these for probably 2 years and just couldn’t pull the trigger. They had free shipping and I was sitting by the pool sweating my … off so I bought one. 13 footer showed up today and myself and one man put it together. I have to say I was skeptical after reading the reviews but it couldn’t have been more simple except for stabbing the umbrella shaft on the base plate, but it’s doable with enough help. The quality looks good and it does make substantial shade, time will tell about how it holds up but it seems well thought out and I’m pleased. Delivery was easy and driver and helper were polite. I’d say if your on the fence go ahead it well be fine.

Great Umbrellas....and customer service
If you have a pool, you want some shade. And if you have a pool with outdoor couches, lounge chairs, and an outdoor dining area, you probably need a lot of shade. I had 10 foot rectangle umbrellas in the past, but they were never enough to protect me throughout the day with the changing sun. Then I thought, I should just build a structure that has retractable shades and covers...but in this world we live in, we are talking permits, tens of thousands of dollars, and that was a non starter. When I saw these umbrellas (the 13' square) that that cantilever, tilt, and rotate with ease, they caught my eye. They are not cheap....but when you consider your alternatives, and what you spend to build and maintain your pool....its really a small price to pay for beauty, ease of use, comfort, and protecting you/your family/your guests from the harms of the sun. So I bought THREE of them! So now the details....and what you need to know:
1. White glove delivery gets them to bring the package to your patio and unbox them and remove the rubbish...but they wont lift the post onto the base for you.
2. This doesnt come with pavers to weigh down the base. For each umbrella, you need twelve 16" square pavers (which are inexpensive and Home Depot delivered to my home). To make the top look really nice, the top 4 pavers I got were different than the rest. I got travertine stone pavers that matches the color of my patio - it looks awesome.
3. The profile of the base is high. So if its in an area where people are walking around, it is actually a trip hazard. But there are ways around this. I got planters with nice plants to sit on top of it. Adds a really nice touch and prevents the trip hazard.
4. Learning to open and close the umbrella with ease is something that takes a few tries. It wont feel very smooth the first few times, but once you know what direction it needs to open and at what level to crank it to avoid surrounding structures, it becomes second nature. Take your time. Learn the angles. Then you will never have to think about it again.
5. Use the covers every time you close the umbrella. So easy to put on. Dont be lazy. They will protect your investment
6. If there is something wrong with your umbrella (like there was a minor issue with one of mine)...I called Frontgate to let them know, and within a week, they had a new one delivered with the original one taken away! I was shocked how easy it was to make that happen! Big props to the Frontgate team for assisting with that and making it a no hassle exchange.
And the complements I get on these umbrellas are off the charts.

Great umbrella for sun coverage
This umbrella gives great sun coverage. It also is very sturdy and does not move with the strong wind in our backyard. We love it!

Beautiful umbrella but read reviews/instructions!
I should have caught that I needed the pavers but they are 20 pounds each so it's a heavy lift as well as putting it together. 2-3 people needed. I only had the drop off delivery since the white glove didn't assemble as other reviewers said. (There is a lot of cardboard to handle but didn't want to pay $200 for it.) It covers a wide area and is beautifully made. I would like a spare cover-not sure if I can order?

Great coverage and easy to use!
We bought the 11.5 ft umbrella! We love it, as it fits our pool decking perfectly. I would definitely purchase again! We are waiting to add furniture. Love the cover! The previous reviews and guidance for setting up were very helpful!

Great Umbrella - creates shaded living space
Very sturdy, great looking umbrella. Assembly made easier by following comments form prior users to add umbrella to base prior to setting stones in base. We did this by putting the umbrella on two small tables to keep it off the ground about 18 inches then installing base. Simply tilting up from there sets it in place and add the pavers. We put 8 stones (36 lbs each) in the base and it was very solid and easy to operate. We look forward to getting a lot of use from this duirn gthe coming months!
