Aqua Trap Entry Mat is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these This rug is awesome. We have two white labs- which means a lot of dog hair! I have had waterhog mats and love the look of them- but they do not vacuum well. Dog hair always would stick to them. Not these Rugs! They get the job done of stopping anything coming in and vacuum perfect. No stuck dog hair!! I only wish they offered different patterns like the waterhog but I do not mind the dots appearance at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem Solver Purchased two 2x3 entry mats for inside my two high traffic doors. After a month of wet end of winter weather in Chicago I am very satisfied! Super durable and you can clean most any loose dirt with a hand vac when dry. Had a pet accident on one, took it to the shower with some dish detergent and light brush, rinse, stand vertical to drip dry overnight, and good to go in the AM. They always lay flat and will not move. Captures everything leaving my wood floors spotless. Very active house and they still look like I just bought them yesterday. I don't think you can hurt them. Great purchase and at a reasonable price considering performance. Can't tell you how many crummy mats and area rugs I have thrown out. Get one and see for yourself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but... Very functional - as billed - but customers need to beware that its height may be problematic with regard to door clearance as it is in our case. Also Frontgate needs to speed up shipping! This did not arrive in the promised time frame. Very annoying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I purchased both the aqua trap entry rug and the water and dirt shield mat for two different areas in my house. The aqua trap rug is a little bit thicker and has a little higher profile edge then the water and dirt shield. It looks a little bit more like a "real rug "rather than just a doormat. We really like it! Because it is thicker, it has deeper crevices and really catches a lot of dirt and leaf fragments off the dogs and children when they come in the back door. It is definitely making a big difference with the amount of dirt being tracked in my house. It also looks pretty attractive. We chose the gray color and it is very nice, a sort of mid tone to dark gray. We also like the water and dirt shield, for the record, which comes in a greater variety of sizes, but the water and dirt shield has more of a doormat look, more industrial. Also the Bluestone color is more blue than I would expect and I generally prefer the gray tone of the aqua trap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Mat Have mat at front door. Its large enough for two people to remove wet snowboots. Mat soaks up snow, water. No leaks below mat. Not sure what happens to melted snow on mat. We never see it. Best mat ever. Very easy to clean (vacuums easily).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Household Use The pictures show it in your house but it is the look and quality of something you would find in a commercial building. Nothing pretty about it. Sent it back and still haven't received my credit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mud trap I ordered this mat because we have had so much rain and the dogs were tracking in all of the mud from the yard because they have to run through all the puddles..well this stops the water and mud the minute they come in and stand on the rug/mat for there treat. This has save me a lot of time in cleaning the kitchen floor. I highly recommend this and wished I had gotten it sooner.

Am I able to sanitize the mat by mopping it clean or will the grooves prevent me from cleaning the crevices? I don’t have access to a large washer or a hose to drip dry.

Asked by: Badal
Thank you for your interest in the Aqua Trap Entry Mat. We do not recommend mopping this mat. For best results vacuum regularly; mat can be hosed off and hung to dry or use a carpet cleaning machine if soiled or additional cleaning is needed.

I want more detail of the antimicrobial Aqua Trap. Does this mean that bacteria is trapped, or just water?

Asked by: teacherlady353
Antimicrobial refers to how the product is made. Antimicrobial agents are built into the product and at the surface. When microbes such as bacteria, mold, and mildew come into contact with the product surface the agents disrupt microbe cell function to limit microbial growth and reproduction. Short answer: The bacteria is there but it can't grow and make your mat look like a piece of moldy bread. It could be trapped in the mat like any other particulate dirt. Vacuuming and cleaning removes it from the mat. This is a general answer of how it works. Only the manufacturer can give specific details.

If used outdoors in the weather, how is this washed? Hose off?

Asked by: pacNW
I use mine indoors and I clean mine in the shower as needed with the detachable shower head, dish detergent and soft brush, rinse, then stand vertical to drip dry. Works great. If I was outdoors I'd use a hose the same way if above freezing of course.

Can this rug be used directly on a wood floor or do I need a pad?

Asked by: QBERT
It has a thick textured rubber backing. You do not need a pad under it. I placed mine directly on my wood floors and there is no way moisture is coming through the rug to the floor.
