Finally!
I had been coveting this piece for a few years and finally took the plunge. I’m very pleased with the scale of it. It is not as overwhelmingly large as it looks in the photos. Also, it is delightfully comfortable. One surprising use: at the end of a day of working from home, I stretch out on it to clean out my email box, end it doesn’t even feel like work.

I am rerating the daybed to highest level because after two contacts I WAS able to buy a replacement canopy. Originally the live chat said no but after re contacting customer service they easily gave me the product number and it was hastily sent. Very thankful and now it is useful again.

Perfect for Entertaining or Retreating!
We purchased four of these daybeds for our boutique hotel suite balconies in 2013 and they have held up wonderfully ever since. We recently decided to refresh the cushions with new Sunbrella Rain sets and they are much better than the originals. They get innumerable compliments for their beauty and comfort. My favorite thing about them is that they block all wind when the canopies are lifted which is perfect for our beachside location. Highly recommend!

Nice looking, comfortable outdoor furniture
Spectacular looking item; very comfortable. It took some time to put the canopy on the bed (delivery people don't do this even when you pay for backyard delivery -- paying extra is only for someone to take packing materials after they put the items in your backyard instead of on your driveway). Once in place, it is a great piece of furniture.

3 Years and Still Love this Daybed!
I am currently writing this review while lounging on my daybed. After a vacation in Key West, I knew I needed an outdoor daybed in my life. Frontgate was recommended to me for the quality and value, and that was sound advice. I have had the Baleares daybed for almost 3 years now and I love it so much!! I just had to order new cushions for it but only because squirrels got into the original ones during the winter. For storing cushions, I recommend a deck box or in the garage when not in use. Do NOT use a cover; the warmth and shelter from the elements is what attracted the critters who destroyed my cushions and were starting to destroy the daybed. If you love lounging and relaxing outside, this is a must!

Great Danes and Furniture
I bought this 7 years ago. I have 5 great danes who claim this as theirs. They play and are each over 150lbs. It has held up wonderfully and not cracked i Texas hot sun. I am looking to finally replace the cushions

Great Quality!
The furniture arrived earlier than expected and was in perfect condition. The quality of the cushions is outstanding. I have read other reviews and hope that sometime soon there will be a replacement canopy available if needed. That would be the only thing I could see getting dirty over the years. Otherwise, totally happy with purchase.

Love this Lounger!
For 5 years I wanted to buy the Baleares Lounger and since we finally put in an inground pool the first thing I did was order it. I was not disappointed! This Lounger looks wonderful and is so well made! What I can't believe is the difference in tempurature under the top! It is so much cooler when sitting under the top it's amazing. The cushions and pillows are so well made. My family loves to veg out on this after swimming! Best purchase I have made in a long time. It was definitely worth waiting for!

Love this!
Although I chalked out a 79"-diameter circle on my deck before I ordered this, I was a little terrified by what I'd done when I finally did order it. "Too big! Too expensive! Oh, noooo!"
On top of that, my husband said it was tacky and stupid-looking! Ack!
It's perfect. The 79-inch diameter seems to refer to the top of the "basket" where the wicker meets the canopy. The footprint and seating areas are actually a little smaller. I'm 5'3-1/2"; I can lie flat in the middle with a little over a foot to spare. So unless you're entertaining your favorite basketball team (Go, Warriors!) virtually anyone can get comfortable in there. And my husband now says it doesn't look tacky at all; he had to admit he loves it, too.
The cushions and pillows are great; super-nice to sink into. Sand color is as pictured. I need to get mosquito netting so we can sleep out there.
The assembly instructions are awful, but assembly was easy. I was able to maneuver the pieces around and assemble on my own.(I'm a 5'3", 105-lb, 58-yr-old woman, not a strapping young guy.)
Actually, the only real assembly was attaching the canopy. Here are instructions:
1. Screw the little metal ball into the back of the basket (There's a hole for it - top center)
2. Lay the canopy across the back of the basket w the self-tie facing down and tie it to the little metal ball you already screwed in.
3. Use the included Allen wrench to screw in the four screws w lock nuts and washers into the holes on the top front edges of the basket. (First thread the lock-nuts onto the screws, then the washers.) The zippers on the sides of the canopy provide access to the screw holes.
I did have a little difficulty w one screw hole that was partly covered by the "wicker" webbing but was able to wiggle it in. Remember not to tighten the screws until all four are partway in.
There are some pretty heavy-duty clippy-thingies that you can slide under the feet to hold the pieces together, but I'm not using them for now. The feet can screw up and down for leveling.
The cushions are backed by grippy, rubbery stuff to keep them from sliding around.
I was torn between this one and a smaller one because I liked the appearance of the single-piece construction, but now that it's here the "piecedness" doesn't bother me at all and I like the versatility of the multiple parts.
The main "basket" is definitely big and I'm not sure if it will fit through a standard door. I bought a cover, but will still over-winter mine on my screened porch that has a wide door. I want it to last forever.
Overall, it's a great-looking, sturdy piece that adds a nice bit of whimsical style to our deck.

Beautiful set!
I have had my eyes on this set for a year and came very close to buying but never did. I am in NY and don't have the space to enjoy every day by a nice pool like shown in the pictures. I finally went for it and purchased on a Thursday and had it delivered to my country house to put on my new deck by the following Wednesday. Yes it was that fast! I wanted to make sure I had it before the spring but didn't think it would come that fast. I can't put it out yet but I opened it up and put the side table that I also purchased and the ottoman on my deck and OMG. The Browns and gold coloring looks so rich in the sun. It is well made. I absolutely love this set. I am so happy I finally bought it and can't wait to actually enjoy it. If you have wanted this like me don't hesitate any longer. Go for it. You won't be dissapointed.

Awesome Daybed
This daybed is great. I love it. I looked at purchasing it for about a year. After reading the online reviews for this daybed and some other daybeds I decided to get this one. I have the green color. The cushions are great and comfortable and don't slip because they having a backing on them. I bought the cover also and it fits perfectly. My only complaint is it took forever to finally arrive. It took about 5 weeks. I kept getting emails every week telling me it had been delayed another week. If you don't need it in a hurry then I highly recommend this daybed.

Waited too long!!
Like a lot of FG customers, I thought about this purchase for years. It's even better than pictured, and very comfortable. We fall asleep on it under the stars. Aruba fabric is stunning and people actually "gasped" when they saw it by our pool. Wish I would have gotten it long ago. Bought cover and after a year it has a few holes but bed is great and cleans up well with a damp cloth.

Strong, solid, beautiful
I did a lot of research to determine what I wanted on our deck that overlooks a bay view. A permanent umbrella would not be ideal because we can sometimes have high wind, but unless I have sun protection, I know I will rarely just walk out to sit on the deck. The Baleares lounger seemed to fit that need with the flexibility of the canopy. I was concerned that the canopy would not be easy to put up and down but it is fantastic. It has two small hydraulic mechanisms that allow it to pop up when needed yet it is easy to retract and stays in place when retracted, but also has a lanyard and attachment bolt to tie it down if needed. THere were just 4 bolts that we tightened to install it. The lounger is large enough that I can lay on it sideways (to have my full body under canopy) and it is comfortable enough that my 9 yo nephew and I slept on it the first night we had it (with plenty of room for our two over-5-foot bodies. Cushions stay on because they have an underside with friction that seems to hold well. My husband covers it at night but I do not think it is necessary to do so. The sangria color is JUST like in the catalog pics, a vibrant red/orange. Just what I wanted. Overall am thrilled. The process of delivery was great too and they under-promised and over-delivered, bringing the item 2 weeks earlier than expected. I have no hesitation in buying from Frontgate in the future. Cannot yet be sure to speak to durability but the sunbrella cushions are second to none and the canopy is also sunbrella. I like that the cushions are not made to wishstand flammability requirements of California which means they are not full of horrible fire retardent chemicals. Just overall, great value and perfect for us.

Baleares Bronze Modular Lounger
We assembled the lounger yesterday and it is beautiful.
It was a long time from order to delivey but it was worth the wait. I am lounging in it as I write this review. I was
concerned that is would not be as big as the pictures but
it is perfect. The fabric is very soft and will last for years to come. We have had umbrellas made from the same fabric and they are still just as nice as when they were purchased. We love it!

Fantastic poolside piece
We love the resort look and feel of the daybed. The cushions are thick and drain easily post-rain showers. Comfortable and very classy addition to our poolside furnishings. Kids/grandkids love it, too. We purchased the cover and don't regret it. It has a nice look for the wintertime and where we live has abundant rainfall. Our pool landscape is very tropical with numerous flowering trees. The cover really helps during the budding/pollen period and leaf shedding times. Keeps everything neat and tidy. Love this lounger!

No Regrets
It took me a long time to settle on this piece. The quality is very good and it's beautiful. Gets many compliments. Super comfortable and big enough for me and my husband to stretch out on together...we are not petite. Will be shipped to you in many boxes but is light weight and quickly assembled. Seats many people if needed then when pushed back together it doesn't take up too much space. We love it. You will too. P.S. Get the cover...we've had this a year and looks brand new.

Fun and Functional
We've had the Belares Daybed with the Aruba cushions for approximately three years. The frame has held up very well and still looks new. The topside of the cushions have had up ok over three years; however, the underside (with the grippy rubber material) quickly became covered with mold that can not even be scrubbed off and is starting to deteriorate. We even kept it covered when we did not use. The canvas umbrella is also becoming a little worn/stained.

Comfy and fabulous!
This is a wonderful piece - I had been looking for something like this that could be taken apart for modular seating on our patio. I purchased in the Aruba Rain fabric and have been very happy with the finish, although I will tell you that the feel of the "rain" fabric is a bit stiffer than the normal sunbrella... you can tell a difference. Also, in the rain finish, you don't get the contrasting welt - it is all the Aruba color (which I had assumed from the pics).
The only drawback and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that the cushions have no way to attach to the bases -- they tend to blow off, and as such, I keep them inside if there is any wind. I have been trying to figure a solution to this, but with the backing of these pieces (a somewhat rubbery-waffle type of fabric) I am afraid that velcro or anything else I can come up with just won't work well. And, the tightly woven bases won't allow for anywhere to tie the cushions down if I sewed on ties to the cushions.

No Replacement Canopy Available
I purchased this piece in November 2017. The design is great - beautiful And functional. Very comfortable, too. However, the white canopy gets dirty even with diligent cover use. Front gate does not offer a replacement cover. Sunbrella is terrific fabric, but 3 months later the canopy looks dingy with no alternative. Not worth the price of the furniture.

Balaeres white modular lounger
I purchased this daybed and cover after thinking about it for several months. It is beautiful. However, after a few months, the cover was defective and the cushions got molded. I couldn't get the mold out. The cover also got molded. I believe there is something wrong with the cover and that water leaks through the cover and causes mold to form. I tried washing it off but it didn't come off. Luckily, the mold was discovered before the 1 year warranty ran out and I was able to get the cushions and cover replaced. However, now I am not sure what will happen this summer when it is set up again. Fingers crossed that this cover is not defective also. I gave this 3 stars because of the mold. i would give it 5 stars in comfort, appearance and quality. However, it doesn't hold up very long.

Mildrewed Cover!
I bought the Baleares cover and checked yesterday and underneath the cover was all mildewed! And since it is beyond the 1 year, I can only get a 50 % giftcard back. There is something defective! I have covers for my British Colonial furniture but they have a white lining that is under it. This ones does not! SO, CHECK YOUR COVERS! If you have the same problem, contact frontgate ASAP!

Please see the assembly instructions link in the item Overview tab. The instructions for canopy assembly can be found on pages 2-3. Follow in reverse order to remove the canopy.
