I would recommend paying for it to be assembled. It is easy but the bold and threads to connect it are very tight and a challenge even for the smallest hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MeredithG from Worth the Wait I purchased this bed in the French Patina finish. Delivery took eight weeks and was well worth the wait. It is an absolutely stunning bed and the photos simply don't do it justice. We don't even need to hang artwork with it because the bed itself is such a show-stopper. The mahogany construction is very solid and sure to be an heirloom provided I can keep my cats from using it as a scratching post. The color is dependent on the light in your space so I would suggest waiting to purchase your new bedding until you receive the bed and can admire it in person. It can appear alternately gray, green, or blue, or all of them at once, depending on the circumstance. We refinished an armoire to "match" and the closest we came to the approximate color in person is SW "Austere Gray" in our location with natural daylight.

I have yet to put it together since the room in which it will be placed is under renovation so I cannot speak to that aspect (i.e., all parts included, parts fit together easily, etc). I ordered the bed in the French Grey finish. It is a combination of grey, greyed green & greyed blue. It is a chameleon color. If you place it against blue, it looks to be more green. If you place it against green, it appears to be more blue. I think this is the reason there are so many different opinions about the color in these reviews. My suggestion is to wait to make other decorating decisions until you receive the bed. I was in love with this bed for a long time before ordering it. Then I waited 5 months for it to be shipped. I love it! Worth the wait and worth every penny!

We ordered the king size and though it took a while to receive after ordering, Frontgate kept us informed via periodic emails on the progress of our order. For our interior, the bed was most definitely worth the wait. We have no complaints and highly recommend.

The color is exactly what I thought it would be and the quality is everything and more. I love this bed! It just makes the room. I am not sorry I waited because it was totally worth it.

The delivery men noted how heavy and very well built. Each bed slat is notched and screwed into the frame. The bed color and the side tables are both supposed to be linen, but the bed appears a bit more tan in color. It doesn't matter, french furniture never matches perfectly. It's unique and charming! This furniture was a great find! Frontgate customer service was first class all the way. My delivery was perfect start to finish. We also bought the Regina Andrews Parisian glass lamps.

Switched from 9” box-spring (pic) to low-profile 5”; much better for us. We love our new bed! The Linen color is rich-looking, & bed is beautifully detailed. It’s Classic, Elegant, Perfect!

We chose to put it together ourselves and it was very easy to put together with two people. It is stable and all pieces went together well and are all flush. This bed is the epitome of luxury!
