Great Gate
This is much better than expected for a stand alone gate. EASY to assemble. Gate works smoothly. For larger dogs add weighted bags to feet. I bought two and have had several friends order after seeing.

Benson Pet Gate is sturdy and attractive
This gate seems a little pricey at first but it's worth it! It's sturdy and looks great. I needed to be able to limit my new puppy's access to the family room while housebreaking. The gate let me block her but still easily access the other room myself. Even at it's maximum extension it stands solidly.

Definitely recommend
Solidly built and beautiful. We bought several dog gates, but most of them looked cheap in our home. This is definitely worth the money and keeps our pup out of areas where we don’t want her.

I believe the frontgate answer is incorrect. Under dimensions it states "36"H Benson Tension-mount Pet Gate (167667): 33-1/4-37-1/2"W x 1-3/4"D x 36"H, 20 lbs"

I need to know the width range for the 34" Benson free standing gate (Item #167667). The description states 53" wide, but since I have an opening of 48", does it have a smaller width?

What is the narrowest that the free standing 34" free standing Benson gate goes? (item #167667). Shows 53" on the website but looks like it can be shortened. Our hallway opening is 45.5" and want to make sure it will compress to fit.
