Carlisle 9-pc. Extending Dining Set in Onyx Finish is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive set It’s a beautiful and substantial looking set. Better than all set’s I’ve seen in stores. Heavy and very well built. Seats require No assembly which is a plus. The table requires assembly and it is heavy, but if handy not too complicated to figure out. The reason it’s getting 4 star and not 5 is that one corner the paint is chipped and after full assembly the added sections are a bit loose and move. I did contact Frontgate and was offered to return, exchange or deduction from the total. We did not want to go through rebuilding such heavy table and since we loved the look and feel otherwise, we were happy with the offered discount.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Positive and negative The table is beautiful, but it needs an umbrella and I ordered the umbrella in March and won’t get it till July. Disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Design - Read Below I am shocked that what I am going to mention is not mentioned in the comments and it really makes me wonder why... First off to mention, we wonder if this table hasnt had its design changed for the worst since a a part of the directions do not even apply to the pieces on this table. The things they mention are literally not on the table. Such as things locking together in place. Nothing locks in place on this table. The only way things tighten with the extensions is by hand cranks.Hand cranks allow for movement, especially in this design as the crank screws dont sit into a hole, the just press against the slides. You can always move them regardless of how tight you get it. Very poor design. Also, when you tighten the cranks it leaves gaps within the table and leaves. For some reason the pressure of the tightening actually pushes them apart. It just looks very poor. So, I was very excited to receive this item, aside from the complete nightmare that came from having this item shipped, but this is not about the shipping.. Finally received the table and chairs. Very heavy, so it took some time to work with. Finally got the table setup and myself and my wife started putting in the leaves for extension, and we found that when the table is extended (and its supposed to be extended permanently, as this is a 8 person seating set), the ends of the table sag down. It just looks ridiculous. I have attached a picture but unfortunately the picture does not do it justice. Who wants a nice metal table that sags on both ends? Its embarrassing.. But the bigger issue is when it came to putting the leaves in. This table does not use the normal method of having a round peg to go into a round hole, which then allows for no wiggle room. What this table does is has a round peg go into an inch or so gap but by having it this way, the peg moves at least a half inch in and out. There is no way to secure it in place. Which means if someone leans on the leaves or pushes into them while eating or sitting, they will push out the leaves a bit. Again, it is just embarrassing to have this table. I have added a video of this. Aside from a very poorly designed table that is definitely not worth the high price tag, the finish was nice, and the chairs we do like a lot. Of course we are returning all of this set since the table is very flawed. I highly recommend skipping this table.

carlisle-9-pc-extending-dining-set-in-onyx-finish Is there an umbrella hole when the table both when the table is extended and also when NOT extended? The picture is not clear.

Asked by: RichardStPete
Thank you for your interest in the Carlisle 9-pc. Extending Dining Set in Onyx Finish. The center portion with the umbrella hole is not designed to be removed, so the table will always have a 2" umbrella hole. The two extension leafs are placed on either side of the center portion. For a better image of this, please see the Carlisle Extending Cast-top Dining Table in Onyx Finish #65182.

Are the chairs stackable?

Asked by: NiceChipshot

Can you insert just one leaf instead of having to use both? If so, what is the length with just the one leaf.

What size umbrella is best for this table, assuming you will always have it at the max size with the leafs inserted?

Asked by: Kate4488

When you ship the table + chairs- Does it come mostly preassembled or do we need to assemble it with tools?
