Thank you for your interest in the Carlisle 9-pc. Extending Dining Set in Onyx Finish. The center portion with the umbrella hole is not designed to be removed, so the table will always have a 2" umbrella hole. The two extension leafs are placed on either side of the center portion. Are the chairs stackable?
Can you insert just one leaf instead of having to use both? If so, what is the length with just the one leaf.

I'm so glad I got it!
This was a splurge for us, but I'm so glad I did it. I wanted a set that would hold up in the Wisconsin weather, and after doing a lot of shopping, this was it. Sleek, heavyweight, and beautiful - I feel like we'll have this for a long time. I did read the other reviews and was concerned the extension might sag, like one reviewer mentioned, since we will almost always have it extended. We did not have any issues with this; everything looks tight! I was also worried that the backs were too short and that it wouldn't be comfortable, also mentioned in a review. Some of the more modern styles I've sat in hit the back in a weird place, but this was not the case for these chairs for us. It's shaped beautifully and is comfortable to sit in without any cushions, though we did get some seat cushions for it (no back cushions though). The assembly was easy - the chairs come fully assembled, and the table is not very complex to assemble. Our style is "updated traditional," so it pairs well with our Torrey wicker sofas and chairs that we already had, as well as our umbrellas and hammock!

Perfect fit
After agonizing over the perfect outdoor table, we found it in this set. I also purchased 2 swivel chairs and an outdoor rug and pad. We are so happy with our choice. It fits our space and style perfectly, and we love the ability to expand the table, as we often have a crowd.
The rug we ordered was back ordered, which was a bit frustrating, but Frontgate kept us informed and managed our expectations well.
You do get a concierge for an order like this, who acts as your point of contact if you have additional questions, and I am writing this review because I just received a follow up message asking how I like my purchase and reminding me to cover the table for the winter. I am impressed with that kind of service.
It’s still too soon to see how our table holds up in the long term, but it looks very sturdy and I will get out there to cover it as soon as the rain starts in earnest.
Overall, a very good experience and result.
