Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved features! I have never written a review, despite being a seasoned shopper, but feel the need to write about our new Eton umbrella table. We purchased 3 of the previous generation umbrella tables Frontgate offered perhaps 8 years ago. One still remains in use but appears to be on the way out. We just received our new Eton table ordered to replace the second one to go and are impressed with the improvements made to these tables. 1.The old tabletop had metal flanges that fit into holes on the base and then you twisted the top to lock it in place. These metal pieces rusted and broke off, making it impossible to secure the top to the base. The Eton top screws on and off the base without the use of metal pieces, so there is nothing to rust and break off. 2. The center tube inside the old table bases where the umbrella pole slides in were also metal and had 4 metal spokes holding it in place. These also rusted. The center tube inside the Eton base is not “naked” metal. I’m not even sure it’s made of metal. If it is, it’s covered in a noncorrosive material like the interior of the table. 3. The turn knob on the exterior of the bases used to secure the umbrella was located near the bottom of all three of our old tables. The knob on the Eton is near the top of the table, giving the umbrella more stability and security. We love the simple and sleek design of this table. We are so delighted with our purchase that we are considering ordering a second one to replace the last of our original tables.
