Freestanding Pet Barrier in Bronze is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 426.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from heavy duty my one complaint is that the latch is difficult and it doesn't allow me to pass as quickly as I would like. You have to lift up and sometimes it's tricky. besides that it is beautiful and blends in with our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Barrier for my puppy! Nice looking, surprisingly light weight and easy to move around. I am using two as an "exercise pen" space for the puppy when I leave then moving them to the wide opening to my kitchen when I'm home so he can play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with our new walk through gate. We have a four month old puppy, and this gate does just what I need it to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Practical I purchased the bronze gate to protect my dining room from two curious Westies! It is low enough to step over, and light enough to easily move if needed. Love the bronze metal which looks more stylish than wooden doggie or baby gates. The best part, the “boys” can’t jump over it and my dining room is safe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and Works Great! We chose the longer width. The box wasn't too heavy for little ol' me to schlep up two flights of stairs to our flat and the barrier was easy to assemble in just a few minutes. We use it to keep our maltipoo Willis out of the kitchen. It is very stable and sturdy. Willis can't get his head between the bars and he certainly can't get over it! Our kitchen is white, but we chose the bronze one thinking that any stains wouldn't be visible. I highly recommend this barrier for folks with smallish/mediumish dogs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great barrier without holes in my walls. I've had my gate for a few years and it kept my 14 pound cat out of my sewing room. She couldn't leap over it and my sewing room was saved!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Pet Gate Ever Made I've owned this gate for several years. It was used to divide two rooms and keep two Great Danes restricted from a dining room. The gate is sturdy, it's attractive and it's attractive. Recently we moved to Texas and the movers had disassembled the gate for shipping. (Yes, there is a small assembly required). All of the screws and L Pins were lost. I called Frontgate and yesterday, replacement screws and L Pins were in my mailbox. Thank you Frontgate!

Why isn't this dog gate recommended for toy breeds? re:item#31077

Asked by: Bill J
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Gate. We do not recommend this for toy breeds because they can go through the openings in the gate. The opening is approximately 2" wide and the dogs could go right through them.

I have an 80" cased opening that I would put a dog barrier across. If I purchased a 27"-40" model and a 40"-70" model can I use them together for this?

Asked by: klsiegel
Thank you for your interest in the 20-inch Freestanding Pet Barrier. There is no way to connect these together so there would be a gap where your fur baby could possibly escape through. We apologize for the inconvenience.

My miniature pinscher is a master escape artist. She is determined and patient. Is this gate meant to stand up to dogs trying to push it out of place? She’s ~17lbs and taller than most minpins

Asked by: JustinaMarie31
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Gate. No gate is going to stop any determined fur baby from escaping. However, this gate is hard for your fur baby to open and the slats are not wide enough for them to squeeze between.

Will this pet gate mar/scratch my new hardwood floors? What is the bottom of the legs coated with?

Asked by: mercedessue
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Gate. This has rubber feet on the bottom to keep the gate from scratching floors.

I have a 72" wide opening from hallway in to the living room. I am considering this pet gate even though it extends to only 68.5" as stated in description. But I think this should work for my 10 lb. and very shy Havanese dog. What do you think? thank you.

Asked by: mercedessue
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Gate. This gate can be placed in your hallway; however, not having it against a wall will make it easier for your pet to push it. However, the gate does weigh 36 lbs., and we recommend considering your pet's disposition when determining if it will work.

I am wondering if there is an additional panel that can be purchased to make this extend wider?

Asked by: bsalerno
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Walk-through Door. We do not offer an extra panel for this gate.

Why not recommended for toy breeds? What do you recommend for putting in a Doorway that is 32” to 33.5”?

Asked by: Ben05
Thank you for your interest in the 34"H Freestanding Pet Barrier with Walk-through Door. The gaps in between the all the bars is approximately 2" which makes it unsuitable for many toy breeds. This gate expands in 2" increments from 54-3/4" to 68-1/2" wide.
