Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly best purchase ever I love this fan. It is total comfort and indulgence! It has perfected the atmosphere on my new deck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 'FANtastic! I couldn't believe the high quality of this item for such a great price. The same day my husband assembled (easy assembly) the fan, our home AC went out; thank goodness for this fan. I was almost tempted to attach the hose to it as it is very hot here in Florida!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So top heavy it is useless This fan is top heavy and the base is made of plastic and very lightweight. Any slight breeze and it blows over. First use, it fell over in a matter of minutes and my husband had to get out the tools to put it back together and make it work again. This is not built well at all and will be broken beyond repair in a matter of a few uses. So disappointing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice for the short term We purchased this a few years ago when we had a local store open. Never used the mister but hadn't intended to anyway. Our main reason for the purchase was to have a fan we could leave on the deck under the canopy and didn't need to take in and out of the house all the time. Recently the plug started buzzing and snapping and then died. Now the fan doesn't work any longer. I would have expected it to last longer so we are disappointed and looking to find a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real crowd pleaser! I would highly recommend this fan! It was easy to put together. We used on our patio on a very hot day and it kept us all cool without drenching us. It had a very wide range - 6 lounge chairs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Misting fan Very nice fan, I have a 12'x48' screened in deck, this fan cools it down about 10 to 15 degrees in about 5 minutes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Misting Fan works well Some of the reviews made me think it would be hard to assemble properly, but I had no problems putting two of these fans together. The mist that they put out is pretty darn good, and the rest of the fan is just like any other oscillating fan. Lots of plastic, but that's to be expected at this price point. I'm quite happy with this most fan.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from assembly is horrible I can't say whwether the mister works well or not, but the assembly is horrible, some pieces don't fit together as they should and attaching the front of the fan is accomplished with a series of ill fitting screws and plates. Its like a cruel joke.

Water usage?

Does anyone know how much water these use? I'm only asking because I live in the desert where our water bill is $300 a month for just watering our plants and stuff.
Asked by: triboy123
Thank you for your interest in the Frontgate Misting Fan. The amount of water used depends on how much water pressure you turn on though your hose.

What type of power outlet? Do I need to call in a certified electrician? Do I need a handyman for the assembly?
Asked by: OutdoorQ

iS THERE SOME WAY TO MOUNT THIS OUTDOORS ON A ROUND POST?

I WOULD NEED 4 OF THEM TO INSTALL INSIDE THE CORNERS OF A NEW TIKI HUT AND WOULD NOT USE THE MISTING FEATURE, SO NO HOSE INVOLVED..
Asked by: plr5
Anything is possible. You would have to take the base (stand) off, run the pole up your post, then attach it with metal "C" clamps and screws. Just be sure to make sure you leave the fan part above the post so it can turn freely

Can this fan be left outside in a thunderstorm or if it is lightning - not just raining?

Asked by: hally1
It's not meant to be left out in the weather. The fan has some components that will shield it from its own mist, but rain would definitely be able to enter the motor housing.
