Can a home steam cleaner be used to clean the rug?
Can soap and water . . . hot or cold . . . which is perferred . . . be used and is only spot cleaning preferred or can a home rug cleaning sweeper be used? Please be specific!
Thank you for your interest in the Gentry Easy Care Rug. We recommend regular vacuuming, without a beater bar if possible and washing with mild soap and water to remove stains (water temperature would depend on the type of stain). We do not recommend using a home steam cleaner.

Can you tell me what colors are in the Black w/Ivory border rug? Are they all neutral
I can't tell on my computer if there is any sage green or golden yellow or deep red in this rug. thanks!
They're all pretty neutral colors, but it includes: ivory, moss green, burgundy, and a copper color. Very pretty and overall pretty neutral.

Do you have any idea how resistant the pile might be to cats (and their inevitable tendency to stretch their claws on carpet)?
Thank you for your interest in Frontgate. The Gentry EZ Care Rug is made with looped construction. It may be possible for cats to snag their claws on the loops when stretching their claws.

Does this rug have a non skid backing
I purchased this rug before and it had the nonskid backing. However the backing washed off after only one cleaning and I then had to use a separate pad. The description does not say it has a non skid back but a woven porous back. I was wondering if this is the same rug since I really like the colors and wearability. I want to replace the ones I have because the backing is gone and they keep slipping underfoot. I even have a pad under them. When I first got them I didn't have to use the pad until I cleaned them. I especially like the fact that they can be hosed off since I used them in my kitchen.

Ordered a second because I loved the first.
This is my second Gentry Performance Area Rug. I loved the first one in black and had it for almost 20 years. It is still in great shape! I thought I’d add a new color to entrance in cream. It’s just as beautiful.

Warming Touch to Entry Foyer
This runner has carefree quality. The color patterns blend in superbly with my Saltillo tile flooring. The touch of black in the narrow border and in the center background highlight two black console tables in the foyer. All in all an elegant look!
