No. They plug in. And they all have a round hook on top. But no string. It is a beautiful ball and very bright at night....

Why would Frontgate post such a inept and un informative product description. Secondly why do you not answer your customers questions??? Furthermore please hire new merchandise buyers, no wonder so many things are reduced, they are awful!
If you read the description, it says everything you need to know. The question and answer section is meant for other buyers from the site. Otherwise it would be impartial for the ones employed by the company to respond. And if you took the time to truly look at the sales, ect. It is very rare anything is really marked down that much unless they have had it online for years and getting rid of extra inventory. Otherwise, the prices are marked up to discount or discounted so minut, its not worth buying until they are clearing out. I buy alot from Frontgate for the fact being I love the quality of their products, not the prices, but that is the price you pay to have something last as well.

Great Looking!
These decorative outdoor balls are great value, well made, and really fun! We will leave them in our trees year round. The moss makes them blend in and not look so cheap, and the warm lights cast a perfect glow for parties and celebrations. We can’t wait to add more to our collection!

Day and night ambiance
Love these! We purchased one of each size and have them hung over our outdoor dining table. They look awesome during the day and provide the perfect amount of light for dinner conversation. I highly recommend.

Magical porch
Very sweet addition to my porch. We created a magical seating area with these twinkling spheres and below them are the Harper lounge chairs in pebble. I can’t wait for warmer weather so we can sit on our porch!
