Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Map I bought this map as a gift for someone, they loved it! Cons- frame was slightly damaged when opened (back bottom corner). The template given to hang the map was wrong.. after using it the screws didn't line up with the slots in the back and we had to redo it.

My husband was a U.S Navy officer and when he retired after 20 yrs, we were finally settled and bought our first house! We traveled quite a lot and so I always imagined a large, beautiful world map for our first house! I searched online for over a year before I found this one. It was perfect! exactly what I had imagined! I don't use the magnetic pegs for aesthetic reasons but it was fun to put them on, at first, to get a visual image of all the places we've been. I get a lot of complements on it! It's the perfect size for this particular wall. The colors are muted to give it an antique appearance. Everything about this piece is quality! It's well worth the money and would fit well in a home with high end furniture and design.

how strong do the magnets hold? is there a question they may fall or get knocked off?

Thank you for your interest in the Heirloom Antiqued Linen Magnetic Map. The map is magnetized and there is always a chance that the magnets can get knocked off. However, they are strong and will stay unless intentionally pulled off or knocked off.

In the catalog it says there is the option to personalize but I don't see that option when I go to check out. I only see that option for the other map styles.
