Championsline 4-step Ladder is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second light weight ladder This is the best light weight ladder I have had. I purchased an aluminum ladder from Frontgate years ago. it is good, but too short for some purposes. The six step ladder is even more stable and with the outdoor feet (purcased separately) it is great for outdoor work. I wish Frontgate offered the foot pads made by the company but I was able to get them online.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I thought The weight was more than advertised and made this product less than what we needed. That package arrive late and was badly damaged.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good House Ladder Liked the sturdiness of this ladder. Still the ladder will not be tall enough for me to change a smoke detector in a high ceiling area. I could never get a good answer on the height of the ladder. Step width is good and the extension bar helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Ladder This was a Mother's Day present! I live in a Victorian Style home with very high ceilings. This ladder enabled me to utilize what would have been wasted top=space in my closet. I am petite and elderly but I am able to navigate this ladder with ease and a sense of safety. Too perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MOST EXCELLENT LADDER I bought this ladder for myself because @ 5 foot & 1/2 inches tall I am vertically challenged. And even more so is the fact that I live in a very tall Chalet type cabin. I LOVE this ladder! It gives me the reach I need & is incredibly light to move around. It also folds pretty flat so it is easy to stuff into a tall corner. This keeps it right @ hand for me! YAY!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and sturdy Needed a stool easy to use in kitchen to get to top shelves. Feel confident with this stool, especially when my hands are full, and like that it is lightweight yet holds steady. Glad I purchased this one as I have had many others that were just too heavy for me with this kind of solid steady support. Wish it came in other colors (white and chrome).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to carry This ladder is very light, easy to open and close. I feel very safe on its...very stable. I'm only sorry I waited so long to purchase it.

What is the height measurement from the top step to the fully extended handle?

What is distance from top platform step to the fully extended handle? Approximately how much above your knees would the handle be?
Asked by: Nervous
Thank you for your interest in the Championsline 4-step Ladder. The handle on the 4 and 5 step ladders is 24.4" above the top step when open. The handle on the 6 step is 26.5" above the top step.

Does the 5 1/2" depth (when closed) include the top tray depth?

I have a 6" space in which to store the ladder, so I need to know if the entire ladder will slide into that space.
Asked by: NWStyle
Yes. I measured mine with a ruler and the measurement is correct. Love this ladder

When viewing the 1:05 video, the text says the weight limit is 225 kg. Doesn't that convert to 496 lbs. weight limit, not 225 lbs.?

Asked by: gohuntin
The Championsline 4-step Ladder is rated for 495 lbs for normal use and 225 lbs for commercial ratings.

Item 48822 Step Stool...where is this item made?

Asked by: Dibna
This ladder is manufactured in Germany

weight capacity in kilograms?

The cross strut below the bottom step is clearly embossed with "225kg" - NOT "225lbs". Since this product is made in Germany, I would expect the weight capacity to be stated in kilograms as shown on the product. Please clarify and verify manufacturer's ANSI certification. I would like to purchase this product, but my weight is greater than 225 lbs.
Asked by: whirlwind
Thank you for your patience while we contacted the vendor to obtain an answer to your question regarding this item. We were able to confirm that per the vendor, because of ANSI, the ladder can only claim 225 lbs, but the European equivalent is 225 kgs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

what is the proper size to order if you have 11' ceilings?

Asked by: womanofthehouse
I think the shortest that will work with 11 foot ceilings is the six-step.

Weight Capacity

On-line description says 225 lbs. Catalog states 225 kg (ie. 496 lb.)
Asked by: JustTheFacts
I just bought the 6-step ladder. I don't think someone over 225 pounds should stand on it. It is light-weight, and the steps are narrower at the top. It works great for me for when I need a tall ladder to change the lightbulbs around my house, which has high ceilings. But for a big guy who does construction, I would go with a Green Bull ladder, which is too heavy and bulky for us ladies who just need to get up high occasionally.

how tall is the highest step on each ladder?

Asked by: flok2
Re the 6 step ladder: the 5th step is 42 inches above the ground, and the 6th step is 51 inches above the ground. I am not sure I would stand on the 6th step. It doesn't look at strong as the 4th step. I am very happy with my 6-step ladder.
