No assembly required, just pulled out of boxes...NO DAMAGE from transport! Hardest thing was breaking down boxes. At time of purchase, we were unsure if we would like the all weather wicker on back rest but found it aesthetically pleasing! Also, are thrilled with the fabric... a canvas feel and the color Snow works well with our Mediterranean style by the pool.
