Olivet Fountain is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Attractive to Look at BUT After working hard at deciphering the instructions and rewriting them, I assembled and on July 7 installed the fountain which seemed to operate well enough. By the third week it stopped working, so had to be disassembled, a two person job if you only have two hands. There was not really anything visible impeding the pump, but I flushed and reinstalled. Four days later there was very little water in the fountain which the previous evening was full. I now know that the odd sponge at the top of the fountain is loose at one point which causes all the water to be expelled in a stream from the top of the fountain. I also notice the paint is flaking off exposing white areas, not too attractive. Probably this is what along with what I think are tiny bits of the weird sponge actually slowed the pump in the first place. For the price the piece is far from satisfactory. At eight decades I have not abused this in any way. It is in a well fenced area so I am mystified as to why the sponge thing is obviously coming apart. It also has a very short piece of tubing connecting the pump with the top section which needs to be replaced with a longer piece to facilitate assembly and disassembly. I am hoping someone will be able to tell me how to fix the sponge or replace it with something functional. It is clearly poor quality and I am not able to use this piece as a fountain in its present condition. The fountain as a whole is attractive but is not working, so I cannot recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's lovely! Wish the motor ran a bit more slowly. For such a relaxing piece, it can feel a bit rushed. I may need to move it to a smaller area, just because I have it in a large garden where it can't be the focal point I wanted it to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, elegant When it first arrived, I was a little disappointed because I thought it looked too plastic-y and nearly returned it. I’m really glad I didn’t. With a few weeks exposure to the elements, it’s gotten some “seasoning” that made it look much more natural. It’s a very elegant addition to our front lawn. Also, we had a cracked piece, which Frontgate replaced easily with their typical top-notch customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Water Fountain We bought this water fountain a few weeks ago and it has worked wonderfully. It has met all of our expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable! I received the Olivet Fountain a couple weeks ago. It is so adorable! It functioned properly right away. We followed the directions that advised plugging the pump in and unplugging it several times when putting it into first use. Almost like priming the pump. It is a smaller fountain, which fits perfectly on my front porch. The directions on assembly were poor, but we figured it out anyway. I’m hopeful that this will last a long time with a few hours worth of daily use. Thanks Frontgate!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fountain First one arrived damaged but customer service was quick to send UPS right back to return it. Took forever thought for replacement to arrive as I had to call twice. Arrived today. For a handyman I got a little frustrated with assembly as it comes with 2 PVC lengths and no clue what to do with the 2nd shorter one, so did not use. Also no instruction what the black plastic wedges are for. You quickly find out when the main pedestal does not sit squarely on the pedestal. REALLY!? The manufacturer could not do that so it sits flat. Rocks quite a bit instead ... so hence wedges. Definitely a little more wobbly that I would like. Hopefully the pretty surface lasts awhile. Have had these fiberglass ones before and the colors chip off leaving ugly white behind. TIP: Do not blast the hose on it to clean it or fill the bowl ... you will blast off the colors. All in all, wife is happy and that's a good thing!

We have the Olivet fountain. we have very little water flow and it's leaking from the bottom. We've taken it apart and cleaned which hasn't helped. What is the benefit of the black "sponge" on the top and how do you put on the black round rubber cup?

Asked by: Garyt
Thank you for your interest in the Olivet Fountain. The black sponge is to help the water flow smoothly. The black rubber stopper should be placed on top of the cord pipe. Please contact our Product Specialist Department at 800-537-8484 and they can assist you further.
